The Head of Defense is a community-created cosmetic item for the Engineer. It replaces the Engineer's default hardhat with a team-colored helmet topped by the top half of a Combat Mini-Sentry Gun, with the Mini-Sentry's white checkered pattern wrapping the back of the hat, connected through an orange (RED)/yellow (BLU) cable to a pair of batteries on the back. The Mini-Sentry moves from side to side and bounces with the player's movements.
This item has two styles, named "Enforcer" and "Protector". The "Protector" style removes the checkered pattern and changes the Combat Mini-Sentry Gun to a miniature Level 1 Sentry Gun.
The Head of Defense was contributed to the Steam Workshop.
