The Noise Maker is a tool introduced during the Scream Fortress update. When equipped in an action slot and used, a noise is played to all the other players in the server. Each Noise Maker (except for the Stabby Noise Maker) has 3 unique sounds that will randomly play when used. They could only be purchased from the Mann Co. Store during the Scream Fortress event. There are seven types of Noise Makers and each comes with 25 uses after which they are removed. There is also a single Noise Maker that wasn't used.

 +
Noise Makers are action items. Each is represented in the backpack as a small device with a large button and two small LED lights at the bottom. The design varies with each version.
 +

 +
When a Noise Maker is equipped in the action slot and used, a noise is played to all nearby players on the server. Most Noise Makers have multiple unique sounds that can randomly play when used, with the exception of "Stabby", which has only one possible sound.
 +

 +
Each Noise Maker, aside from "TF Birthday" and "Winter Holiday", can only be used 25 times before being removed from the player's backpack.

Halloween Noise Makers could only be purchased from the Mann Co. Store during the Scream Fortress Update event. There were eight Noise Makers, one of which was unused. The seven usable Noise Makers could be purchased as a pack. Upon using any one of these noise makers, a particle effect consisting of orange ghosts and white music notes would be spawned temporarily around the user's head.

Noise Makers introduced with the Japan Charity Bundle. The Noise Makers were purchasable before April 6, 2011. There were three Noise Makers, one of which was unused. The sound files for the unused Noise Maker are present in the game files; however, no noise maker item exists to use them and as such they were not included in the Charity Bundle.

The TF Birthday Noise Maker was introduced with the 8 and is awarded to all players who play during Team Fortress birthday celebration, from the 15th anniversary onwards, along with the Party Hat. Like the Winter Holiday Noise Maker, it has unlimited uses and produces a unique particle effect, but cannot be used outside of the Team Fortress birthday event, though servers that have Birthday mode enabled can bypass this restriction. The icon on its button resembles the cake icon from Portal, albeit with its cherry removed.

Bugs
+
The Winter Holiday Noise Maker was introduced in the Australian Christmas 2011 update on 12. This item is awarded to all players who play during any Smissmas event, beginning with the Australian Christmas 2011 event. When used, snow particles will burst out and form a sphere around the player that is using the Noise Maker. This Noise Maker has unlimited uses, but is restricted to the Smissmas holiday.
* If you change your currently equipped Noise Maker outside of a spawn area, you can use the action key to make the noise of the currently equipped one without taking up uses of either one you had/have equipped.
+

* With the Noise Maker equipped, you will appear to be wearing a 119th Update medal. Because noise makers occupy the action slot instead of the misc slot, you can effectively wear two Miscellaneous items at once. The medal appears as a Grizzled Veteran on the RED team, or a Soldier of Fortune on the BLU team. Even though the noise makers can be worn on all classes, the badge engraving appears as a Scout symbol.
+
{| class="wikitable" cellpadding=2 style="text-align:center;"
*If a dueling badge or 119th Update badge is equipped along with a noise maker, then the engraving on the medals will appear merged with each other and can sometimes be mistaken for a Silver Dueling Badge or a Gold Dueling Badge if the badge is equipped.

What was noise?
The Heavy

Noise Makers are action items. Each is represented in the backpack as a small device with a large button and two small LED lights at the bottom. The design varies with each version.

When a Noise Maker is equipped in the action slot and used, a noise is played to all nearby players on the server. Most Noise Makers have multiple unique sounds that can randomly play when used, with the exception of "Stabby", which has only one possible sound.

Each Noise Maker, aside from "TF Birthday" and "Winter Holiday", can only be used 25 times before being removed from the player's backpack.

Noise Makers

Scream Fortress Update

The unique particle effect spawned by using any of the seven Halloween noise makers.
