The Reserve Shooter is a secondary weapon for the Soldier. It is a pump-action shotgun with a wooden forend and stock, and an olive-shaded metal barrel and receiver.
At the cost of having only three shells per magazine, this weapon increases the speed in which the Soldier switches between weapons by 15%. It is also able to deliver mini-crits to airborne targets for 3 seconds after switching to it. Unlike the Direct Hit, the mini-crits from the Reserve Shooter are awarded even if the enemy was not launched into the air by explosive damage.

- The Reserve Shooter was added to the game.
- Fixed a bug where the Reserve Shooter would Mini-Crit against swimming targets.
- Added/Refined recoil/draw/crit/reload forces for all of the new weapons in the Uber Update
Bugs
- When taunting, the Shotgun sounds are used.
- While reloading, it is possible to force the reload animation to loop endlessly by holding both the left and right mouse button after reloading at least one shell. This can be similarly performed with the Frontier Justice and the Shotgun.
Trivia
- A Reserve Shooter is someone who provides backup for the front lines should any error occur.
