The Southern Hospitality is a community-made melee weapon for the Engineer. It is a modified pipe wrench with a spiked knuckle guard and a sharp metal piece on the top.
Striking an opponent with this weapon causes them to bleed for five seconds. As a downside, this weapon does not deliver random critical hits, and players wielding it have a 20% fire vulnerability.
Switching from this weapon to a different melee weapon will destroy all existing buildings.

Strange variant
Unlike its Wrench and Jag counterparts, the Strange Southern Hospitality only counts melee kills, while the Strange Wrench and Jag both count melee kills, along with Sentry Gun kills.

- The Southern Hospitality was added to the game.
- Engineers who hit teammate Sentry Guns with their Wrench now get kill assists from that Sentry Gun.
- Fixed melee attacks not destroying remote detonation pipes (Stickybombs).
- [Undocumented] The crafting cost for the Jag was reduced from two Scrap Metal + Southern Hospitality to one Scrap Metal + Southern Hospitality.
April 14, 2011 Patch (Hatless Update)
- Replaced the no-crit attribute with -25% damage on the Southern Hospitality.

Trivia
- The Southern Hospitality, as with the Frontier Justice, the Wrangler and the Gunslinger, appears to have been designed by Radigan Conagher, the Engineer's grandfather. This is shown by a hidden link in the Engineer Update.
- The name "Southern Hospitality" is derived from the same phrase describing the warm and welcoming American South.
- WatchMaker| submitted the model to the Contribute page under the name "Beat All".[citation needed]
- With the Mann-Conomy Update and by extension the release of the Mann Co. Store, the creator of the Southern Hospitality emailed Valve co-founder and managing director Template:W to thank him for his item's inclusion. Newell responded to this by purchasing 10,000 of the Southern Hospitality item from the Mann Co. Store.
