The Editor Formerly Known as 'Balphezar'
Yeah, I got sick of the confusion, so I created a new account with the name people recognize better. :3
Also, Bonk! Atomic Punch is legitimately useful, and I will Bat anyone who disagrees.
About Me
Well hey there, you've found me! My name's MistahFixIt. I'm not a mod or an admin, but I am here fairly regularly, and I'm usually one of the first people to update the site when a major TF2 development occurs. I also try to act as the 'mouthpiece' of the Wiki while on the Steam Groups and Steam-Powered User Forums, so people know what's going on with TF2 Wiki 'behind the scenes', so to speak.
Other Wikis I Edit
I encourage you to go visit them, as I'm sure they'd appreciate the extra help.
Where I Get My Info
This information just doesn't pop out of the air, after all. Other wikis, through their tireless research, provide me with information that I can use for all sorts of purposes. The most important is, of course, Wikipedia. A endless pool of information for any and every subject, it is a great starting point for research. For comic book related material, there's no place better than the Marvel and DC database projects.
For Team Fortress 2, I do all of my research myself, through my extensive play of the game, both on Xbox 360 console and now on the computer.

Garbage and Nonsense
Class | Primary | Secondary | Tertiary/Melee | Hat | Reasoning |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
85px Scout |
Force-a-Nature |
Bonk! Atomic Punch |
Bat |
Ye olde baker boy |
"I prefer to use the Scout's speed and agility to snipe or heckle high-priority targets like Medics, rather than engage in protracted shotgun duels. Also, I keep Bonk! handy to distract or bypass any Sentry guns that might get in my way. I also don't much like using The Sandman; I like to have as much of my HP available as possible." |
85px Soldier |
Direct hit |
Buff banner |
Equalizer |
"In truth, I prefer the rocket launcher, but I'm currently using the Direct hit as a self-imposed nerf, in order to train myself to spam less. As for the Buff Banner, I find I don't use the shotgun much anyways, and since I like to play the Support role more than the Offense role in most cases, the Buff Banner seems almost tailor-made for me. As for the Equalizer, well... there really isn't much reason NOT to use it at the moment." | |
85px Pyro |
Flamethrower |
Flare gun |
Homewrecker |
Respectless rubber glove |
"The Pyro's been through the wringer the last few days, but he/she/it still remains one of my favourite classes. The only class I know of that incites more paranoia is the Spy. Even with the recent nerfs (and then... well not really buffs; more like de-nerfs) I remain loyal to the Flamethrower. The Flare Gun was always fun for me to use, especially on them damned-irritating Scouts. And I love the Homewrecker cuz... well, it's a sledgehammer. That's badass. " |
50px Demoman (Defensive) |
50px Grenade launcher |
Scottish Resistance |
50px Bottle |
"Demoman is the one class I have two completely different loadouts that I switch between from round-to-round, or even between one spawn and the next. When I play defensively, I elect for the selective-detonation versatility that the Sco-Res affords. I almost never use stickybombs offensively; I'm not trying to say doing so is wrong, only that I prefer not to." | |
50px Demoman (Offensive) |
50px Grenade launcher |
Chargin' Targe |
Eyelander |
"Inversely, when I'm playing offensively, I will use the grenade launcher, almost to the exclusion of anything else. Hence, I will usually strap on the 'Sword n' Board' to supplement my aggressive offence style." | |
85px Heavy |
Natascha |
Shotgun |
Fists |
"Anyone who knows me, and has played against me in-game knows that Scouts and Targelander Demomen are the bane of my existence as a Heavy. So I will almost always have Natascha in my arsenal, with her magical boolets made of cold molasses. Normally I will keep the shotgun, unless I'm playing exclusively defense or exclusively offence, in which case I will switch to the Sandvich or Dalokohs bar, respectively. I don't use melee weapons much, so I keep the Fists out for their marginally-faster swing rate." | |
85px Engineer |
Shotgun |
Pistol |
Community Wrench |
Mining light |
"Yeeeah, there's not much here, is there? Well, we'll see how that changes when the Engineer Update comes out." |
85px Medic |
Syringe gun |
Medigun |
Ubersaw |
"'The Medic who fights and runs away, lives to charge another day.' These are the words I live by as a Medic, and to that end, I prefer the increased passive healing using the Syringe Gun, than the accuracy-dependent healing of the Blutsauger. Yeah, it makes me weaker in combat, but I'd rather run than fight. I switch frequently between the Medigun and the Kritzkrieg, but I default to the Medigun in most situations. And I keep using the ubersaw, even though I rarely get into melee fights as a Medic." | |
85px Sniper |
Huntsman |
S.M.G. |
Kukri |
"I tell you this here and now, with no small measure of humility: I am a terrible Sniper. Which is probably evident in my preference of the Huntsman over the true Sniper rifle. If I choose to use Jarate, it will often be in conjunction with the Sniper rifle, but only because I can't use it and the SMG together. Kukri is also mandatory, as Sniper has no melee unlockables." | |
85px Spy |
Revolver |
Dead Ringer (P.D.A. Slot) |
Knife |
90px Backbiter's billycock |
"Yes I know, the watch is in the wrong inventory category, but really, I didn't want to mess up my table for just ONE item. Anyway, I used to use the Ambassador in conjunction with the Cloak and Dagger, to become a 'Behind Enemy Lines Pseudo-Snper', but then I decided to switch to the Dead Ringer, just for a laugh. I'm finding it's a lot more fun to use than I remember." |
