When asked about it, the Pyro claims to have found it in the garden and has been using it as a backscratcher, though we must admit we have always wondered how the bent teeth and bloodstains got there. Now we know.
— Fancy Vs. Nasty update description

The Back Scratcher is a melee weapon for the Pyro. It appears as a gardening rake with a wooden handle and a green metal head with bloodstains on the teeth.

Trivia

  • The Back Scratcher was originally a skin for the Axtinguisher in the fan-made Fancy vs. Nasty Update.
  • The stats for the Back Scratcher were originally given to The Endless Carnage, a Pyro melee weapon from the fan-made Advanced Weaponiser.
  • Although a Medic will heal a Pyro wielding The Back Scratcher more slowly, their ÜberCharge will still increase at the regular rate. This allows a heavily-wounded Pyro to greatly increase a Medic's ÜberCharge meter.
