Now that is what I want to see!
The Soldier on proper rocket jumping techniques

The Rocket Jumper is a training primary weapon for the Soldier. Its appearance is identical to the Rocket Launcher.

As a training item, the Rocket Jumper fires completely harmless rockets, allowing players to freely practice rocket jumping techniques. The ammo count for the weapon is also tripled, giving the user forty extra rockets to use. Unfortunately, the Soldier's damage vulnerabilities are greatly increased, limiting its practical usage while in combat with enemy players.

Function times

Identical to: Rocket Launcher
Function times (in seconds)
Attack interval 0.8 s
Reload (first) 0.8 s
Reload (consecutive) 0.92 s
Values are approximate and determined by community testing.

Bugs

  • Reflected rockets fired from the Rocket Jumper will deal damage to Pyros that attempt to rocket jump using the deflected rocket.
  • Due to how bullet vulnerability is calculated, certain non-bullet weapons deal 100% more damage to a Rocket Jumper wielder. This includes the Syringe Gun, the Targe Bash, and most Taunt attacks.
  • While reloading, it is possible to force the reload animation to loop endlessly by holding both the attack and alt-fire buttons after reloading at least one rocket.
