The Black Rose 1 - 100 Slay it with flowers.

The Black Rose is a promotional melee weapon for the Spy. It is a double-edged butterfly knife serrated on one side with roses engraved along the blade and a symbol of an encircled rose imprinted on the handles. Its Baccara style colors the weapon almost entirely black, while the Mystery and True Love style is team-colored.

The Black Rose is awarded to players who complete the Alliance of Valiant Arms achievement 1st One Down by creating a character and playing their first game. This weapon functions identically to the standard Knife.

Sapsucker Sap an enemy building, then backstab the Engineer who built it within 5 seconds. Slash and Burn Backstab an enemy, who then switches to Pyro before they respawn. Spymaster Backstab 1000 enemies. The Man from P.U.N.C.T.U.R.E. Stab an enemy while fencing. The Man with the Broken Guns Backstab an Engineer, then sap 3 of his buildings within 10 seconds. Triplecrossed Backstab 3 Snipers in a single life. Wetwork Stab an enemy to death while under the influence of Jarate. You Only Shiv Thrice Backstab 3 enemies within 10 seconds.

• Added the Black Rose to the game.

Bugs

• When changing styles, the weapon preview will display slightly outside of the borders.
• With the Baccara style on BLU, the view model still uses RED textures.
• If the style is changed while the weapon is out, the appearance will not change in first person view; switching weapons fixes this.

Trivia

• Baccara is another name for a black rose.
• Black roses symbolize many dark emotions, prominently among them is revenge.
• The weapon's description is a play on the phrase "Say it with flowers" which is commonly associated with the giving of roses to loved ones.

Notes

• Alliance of Valiant Arms is not available in certain countries, making the Black Rose unobtainable to certain residents. A list of whitelisted countries may be found here.
