The Übersaw is an unlockable Melee weapon for the Medic class. It is a Level 10 Bonesaw which can be unlocked after completing 22 Medic achievements. Its appearance resembles the Bonesaw's, but with a large syringe fixed into the blade and the needle pointing out the tip of the blade.  Every successful hit with the Übersaw adds 25% to the player's ÜberCharge meter, at the cost of a 20% slower swing rate than the Bonesaw's. This effect still applies to a Scout under the effects of Bonk! Atomic Punch; however, the Scout will not receive any damage. Its Critical hit animation is an upwards sawing motion.

The vial on the Übersaw's syringe also represents your current ÜberCharge. as it is filled by an unknown liquid slowly as you heal teammates/score a successful hit.  If you deploy your ÜberCharge and switch to the Übersaw, you can see the liquid slowly draining from the vial.

Taunting with the Übersaw equipped will perform a deadly Spinal Tap attack. which stuns an enemy on the initial puncture and kills them instantly when the weapon is removed, not unlike the Skewer taunt. On a successful Spinal Tap kill, 50% is added to the ÜberCharge meter. To the date, the Spinal Tap taunt does not have its own kill icon, using instead the Übersaw one.
+
Compared to the Bonesaw, the Ubersaw swings 20% slower. However, every successful hit against an enemy player adds 25% to the player's ÜberCharge meter. ÜberCharge is gained on hit even if the victim is invulnerable or cloaked, but not if the victim is disguised. The Ubersaw does not build the ÜberCharge meter in Medieval Mode, as the Medic's secondary weapons cannot be used.

Four hits with this new weapon will fully charge whatever medigun the Medic has equipped.
Ubersaw publicity blurb

The Ubersaw is an unlockable melee weapon for the Medic. It is a cleaver-like blade fixed into a bonesaw grip, with a large syringe filled with team-colored, glowing liquid.

The vial on the Ubersaw's syringe serves as a visual representation of a Medic's ÜberCharge. It fills slowly as teammates are healed and enemies are attacked with the weapon. Should the player switch to the Ubersaw while ÜberCharge is deployed, the liquid can be seen slowly draining from the syringe.

Taunting or pressing alt-fire (default key: MOUSE2) with the Ubersaw equipped results in the Uberslice kill taunt. A successful kill with this taunt gives the Medic 100% ÜberCharge; however, killing a disguised Spy only awards 50%.

The Ubersaw is automatically given to any player who obtains 22 Medic achievements.
