Ha ha ha! Oktoberfest!
The Medic

Upon taunting with the Kritzkrieg equipped, the Medic puts his face up to the barrel of his weapon and inhales deeply, healing him for 11 health. Like all taunts, it can be used during humiliation. It is possible to heal an ally while performing it if the player has selected the 'Medi Gun heal after release' option. Performing the taunt, however, does not contribute to the ÜberCharge meter but will count towards the total healing on the scoreboard.

Oktoberfest is best used when the player is alone and taking passive damage, on fire or bleeding for example, when natural health regeneration is too slow.

Function Times

  • Taunt Interval: 4

All times are in seconds. Times are approximate and determined by community testing.

Trivia

  • This taunt was originally designed for the Medi Gun. [1] It was speculated to have been removed to avoid drug references, but was eventually re-added for the Kritzkrieg.
  • It is speculated that the inhale animation is a reference to marijuana in water pipes, but looking at the background of The Medic, it is more likely a reference to the smelling of brews during the Oktoberfest celebrations in Germany.
  • Prior to the comeback, there was a sound file, "Ha ha ha, Oktoberfest!" that accompanied the taunt, but both were disabled when it was speculated that the taunt was a drug reference. Even though the taunt was restored, the sound was not included, though it is still in the game files. From a logical perspective, it would be difficult to breathe in and shout at the same time.
