The Medic

The Amputator is a community-made melee weapon for the Medic. It is a saw with angular edges and a distinct team-colored handle with an arrowhead-like extension near the top and the Medic's class icon in the center.

The weapon is statistically identical to the Bonesaw; upon taunting, however, a Medicating Melody is produced and heals all nearby teammates, save for Soldiers with the Equalizer as their active weapon and Cloaked or disguised Spies, but will not overheal teammates.

The Medic will be credited with an assist kill if a teammate within the taunt's area of effect successfully kills an enemy.

The kill icon for the Amputator was contributed by MasterOfOrigami.

Notes

  1. In mid taunt with the Amputator, the player could disconnect from the server, but the healing effect would remain for surrounding injured players, giving them infinitely regenerating health, even after death, until they disconnected or the map changed.
