Ha ha ha! Oktoberfest!
The Medic

Upon taunting while holding the Kritzkrieg, the Medic puts his face up to the barrel of his weapon and inhales deeply, healing himself for 11 health. Like all taunts it can be used during humiliation. You can still heal an ally while performing it if you have selected the 'Medi Gun heal after release' option. Performing the taunt does not contribute to the ÜberCharge meter.

Oktoberfest is best used when you are alone and taking passive damage (on fire and/or bleeding), when your natural health regeneration is too slow. The Medic is left vulnerable while performing the taunt, and is best used behind cover or away from the battlefield.

Function Times

  • Taunt Interval: 4

Trivia

  • This taunt was originally designed for the Medi Gun. It was speculated to have been removed to avoid drug references, but was eventually re-added for the Kritzkrieg.
  • It is speculated that the inhale animation is a reference to marijuana in water pipes, but looking at the background of The Medic, it is more likely a reference to the smelling of brews during the Oktoberfest celebrations in Germany.
  • Prior to the comeback, there was a sound file, "Ha ha ha, Oktoberfest!" that accompanied the taunt, but both were disabled when it was speculated that the taunt was a drug reference. Even though the taunt was restored, the sound was not included, though it is still in the game files. From a logical perspective, it would be difficult to breathe in and shout at the same time.
