And that is how you do it, men!
The Soldier teaching his team how to rocket jump

The Rocket Jumper is a primary weapon for the Soldier. It is similar in shape to the Rocket Launcher, but with an orange-and-white painted exhaust, a triangular sign depicting a silhouette of a rocket jumping Soldier, and a flared muzzle.

The Rocket Jumper fires completely harmless rockets, allowing players to freely practice rocket jumping techniques without taking self-inflicted damage from explosions. The ammo count for the weapon is also tripled, giving the user forty extra rockets to use. While in midair via a Rocket Jumper rocket jump, a distinct "flying" sound plays, acknowledging the player's success. However, rockets fired from the Rocket Jumper are not only harmless to the user, but to enemy players as well, making it completely ineffective as an actual weapon. In addition, players equipped with this weapon are unable to carry the Intelligence in Capture the Flag, the Australium in Special Delivery, or the Jack in PASS Time.

  • Performing a rocket jump with the Rocket Jumper resets the Concheror's health regeneration speed as if the user took damage. This is because, in the game's code, the Rocket Jumper's rockets do damage equal to the Rocket Launcher times 0, in order to make the knockback consistent between the two weapons.
    • Similarly, if the user is soaked in gasoline, performing a rocket jump with the Rocket Jumper ignites the user.
  • When crit-boosted, the Rocket Jumper's normal sound effects are replaced with the Rocket Launcher's sound effects.

Trivia

  • The sign on the Rocket Jumper and Sticky Jumper is based off the slow moving vehicle warning sign in the US and Canada.
  • When a glitched Killstreak Kit is added to the Rocket Jumper, the killstreak sheen still appears, unlike most items with an added glitched Killstreak Kit.
