Drink it in pal! That's how failure tastes!
The Scout

The Mad Milk is a secondary weapon for the Scout. It appears as a nondescript bottle of "milk" with no cap.

Functioning similarly to Jarate and unlike previous Scout drinks, this weapon can be thrown by the player at enemies as a projectile, but can be reflected back by an enemy Pyro or redirected by an enemy Scout's Baseball. It is possible to get a "Critical" Mad Milk, but the effect is only cosmetic.

Once a target is covered in non-milk substance, they will appear to continually drip white droplets. Players under the effects of Mad Milk will not have blurred vision, but will have a white droplet icon next to their health meter on the HUD, similar to that of the bleed effect. During this period, 75% of the damage done to the enemy is returned as health to any team member who damages the Mad Milk-covered enemy. This does not apply to Engineers whose Sentry Gun damages the enemy. A player under the effects of Bonk! Atomic Punch and covered in Mad Milk will still provide health upon being hit but will be immune to the damage.

Mad Milk has the added benefits of extinguishing teammates on fire and shorting out Cloaking devices. Having an ÜberCharge activated on the victim(s) will not wash off the liquid.

Damage

None. However if an enemy is covered in Mad Milk when you do damage to them, you will be healed a percentage (75%) of that damage. It also shorts out Spy cloaking devices.

Function times

  • Mad Milk Recharge Time: 20 seconds.
  • Mad Milk Effects Duration: 6 seconds

All times are in seconds. Times are approximate and determined by community testing.

Bugs

  • Spies under the effect of Mad Milk can exclaim a Jarate line.
  • The Sniper achievements Jarring Transitions and Number One Assistant can be earned with the Mad Milk.
  • Throwing Mad Milk at a Pumpkin Bomb can damage or kill nearby teammates.
  • Taunting with the Mad Milk causes the Scout to hold it like the Pistol or the Shortstop after the animation.

Trivia

  • Following the trend of highly dangerous drinks such as Bonk! Atomic Punch and Crit-a-Cola, the Mad Milk supposedly came from cows infused with "sweet, wholesome thermonuclear radiation".
  • Throwing Mad Milk on someone who is already under the effects of Jarate cancels out the visual effect of the Jarate but keeps the effects of both, and vice versa.
  • The weapon's development name was Mann Milk, a reference to Mann Co. [1].
  • Spies who backstab someone covered in Mad Milk will be healed up to 4.5 times the victim's health.
  • Mad Milk was originally a reskin for Bonk! Atomic Punch and was planned to be used as a lunchbox item in-game, hence the description revolving around taste on Spetch's Special Delivery poster.
