Genuine Ap-Sap 1 - 100 Mann Co. had a great deal from a nice lady in an abandoned science facility on a warehouse full of slightly used, possibly mildly defective sappers. Unlike our other sappers, the Ap-Sap is sentient, and will provide hours of lively, one-sided conversation while you're trying to work.

The Ap-Sap is a Sapper replacement for the Spy. It replaces the default Sapper with a flattened Wheatley core. The Ap-Sap also has voice lines that are activated upon certain circumstances such as deploying a Sapper, death, and more.

This weapon funtions exactly the same way as the Sapper.

The Ap-Sap was awarded in Genuine quality to players who opened a What's in the Portal 2 Soundtrack Box?, which was given to players who purchased Portal 2: Songs to Test By as a bonus.

Joint Operation Sap an enemy sentry gun within 3 seconds of a teammate sapping another. Sap Auteur Destroy 1000 Engineer buildings with sappers.

Sapsucker Sap an enemy building, then backstab the Engineer who built it within 5 seconds. The Man with the Broken Guns Backstab an Engineer, then sap 3 of his buildings within 10 seconds.

Bugs

• When an Engineer removes this Sapper from a building, the Ap-Sap may respond as if the building was successfully sapped.
• Upon a feigned death with the Dead Ringer, neither a model is dropped nor a death response is heard by the user or other players.

Trivia

• The Ap-Sap is voiced by Stephen Merchant, the same Wheatley voice actor in Portal 2.
• The name of the item is actually derived from two distinct names, which are "Aperture" and "Sapper"
• The item's description that says about "...slightly used, possibly mildly defective sappers." may appear to be referring to Cores in which they appear in Portal.
