The Batsaber is a community-created melee weapon for the Scout. It is a metallic tube with a rubberized grip that emits a team-colored beam of light, resembling the size and shape of the stock Bat. It emits an electronic noise when swung, regardless of whether it hits or misses.
Enemies killed by the Batsaber suffer a distinctive death by vaporization: they turn black, hover in mid-air while surrounded by team-colored particles, and then disappear into ashes while a loud, distinct vaporization sound plays. Like backstabs and headshots, there is a 25% chance of opponents performing a specific disintegration animation if killed in this way. This vaporization effect is shared with the Cow Mangler 5000, Righteous Bison and Neon Annihilator.
This weapon functions identically to the Bat.
The Batsaber was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

- Added inspect animations for the Batsaber.
- Fixed the Batsaber not showing the Killstreak sheen.
Unused content
- The Batsaber is set up for paint to be applied, but the ability to do so is disabled.
Bugs
- If a Specialized or Professional Killstreak Kit is applied to the Batsaber, the white glowing center of the weapon turns transparent whenever the sheen appears.
- The tip of the Batsaber may become transparent on certain surfaces.
Trivia
- The Batsaber is based on the Lightsaber from the Star Wars franchise.
- The description "Energy Overwhelming" is a reference to Archon, a unit from the StarCraft series of video games.
