The Holy Mackerel is an unlockable replacement for the Scout's Bat and is part of the Polycount Update. It appears as a fish with wrapping shaped for easy handling. It has no attributes that differ from the Scout's regular bat.

Being slapped by a fish is so humiliating that the kill feed records every connecting swipe, displaying a number corresponding to the number of hits made (so hitting an enemy three times will display a "x3"). Having one's health completely drained by an ectotherm is even more morally depleting, such that the kill feed will proudly proclaim "FISH KILL" every time.

Based on its appearance, the fish is a chub mackerel.
42 is a reference to Douglas Adams' novel, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Plays a custom, "Squish!" sound when it hits an opponent.
