It is a prototype [[Medi Gun]] with a group of three small gauges on one side, a decorative [[ÜberCharge]] gauge on the other, and what appears to be a blender for a body. + | Compared to the stock Medi Gun, the Quick-Fix heals players 40% faster and builds ÜberCharge 10% faster, but can only [[overheal]] up to 125% rather than 150%. It can maintain, but not increase, overheal over 125% obtained from another source. Since its maximum overheal is lower than the 142.5% ÜberCharge build rate penalty threshold, it can build ÜberCharge twice as fast as the stock Medi Gun, on top of the aforementioned 10% build rate boost.
+ | |||
+ | Deploying the ÜberCharge triples the healing rate and heals the Medic at the same rate (granting him up to 125% overheal), while also providing immunity to all movement-impairing effects, such as [[knockback]], [[stun]], and [[slowdown]]. The charge does nothing to reduce incoming damage, making it ineffective against lethal burst damage. The reduced healing penalty applied under the effects of [[afterburn]] still apply under the Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge. While ÜberCharge is deployed, the Medic and his patient cannot capture or block a point, or push/block the cart, but they can carry the intelligence.
− | Like | + | Like other Medi Guns, healing with the Quick-Fix allows the Medic to match the speed of a faster target. However, it also mirrors a patient's explosive jump or shield charge, sending the Medic an equal force in the same direction, allowing him to follow teammates that launch themselves across the map (although after the initial force the Medic must control his own flight). This effect only functions when healing a Soldier, Demoman, or Pyro, and only works on Medics directly healing the patient (effect cannot be transferred across a chain of Medics). When healing a patient firing a [[Grappling Hook]], the Medic travels in the same direction at the same speed, remaining suspended until the hook is released or their healing beam is disconnected. Any kills that a patient gets are counted as an assist to the Medic. |

“ | War historians will appreciate the original medigun— still handy even though the invuln function shorted out after its first use.
— Quick-Fix publicity blurb
|
” |
The Quick-Fix is a secondary weapon for the Medic. It is a prototype Medi Gun with a group of three small gauges on one side, a decorative ÜberCharge gauge on the other, and what appears to be a blender for a body. The main gun is coupled with a medicinal reactor backpack with glowing portions that replaces Medic's default backpack.
Compared to the stock Medi Gun, the Quick-Fix heals players 40% faster and builds ÜberCharge 10% faster, but can only overheal up to 125% rather than 150%.
Deploying the ÜberCharge triples the healing rate and heals the Medic at the same rate (granting him up to 125% overheal), while also providing immunity to all movement-impairing effects, such as knockback, stun, and slowdown. The charge does nothing to reduce incoming damage, making it ineffective against lethal burst damage. The reduced healing penalty applied under the effects of afterburn still apply under the Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge. While ÜberCharge is deployed, the Medic and his patient cannot capture or block a point, or push/block the cart, but they can carry the intelligence.
Like other Medi Guns, healing with the Quick-Fix allows the Medic to match the speed of a faster target. When healing a patient firing a Grappling Hook, the Medic travels in the same direction at the same speed, remaining suspended until the hook is released or their healing beam is disconnected. Any kills that a patient gets are counted as an assist to the Medic.
The Quick-Fix was previously tested in Team Fortress 2 Beta. The Beta Quick-Fix, a separate variant of the weapon, was also available for use in the beta.

- Fixed Quick-Fix Medics not properly following/mirroring the Pyro after launching with the Thermal Thruster.
Bugs
- Activating the ÜberCharge on a disguised Spy provides them with a healing aura of their team color instead of the disguised team's color.
- A Spy disguised as a Medic with the Quick-Fix equipped uses the regular Medic backpack.
- Dying during an ÜberCharge may cause the ÜberCharge sound effect to play.
- This can be fixed if the player disconnects, the map changes, or
snd_restart
is entered into the console.
- This can be fixed if the player disconnects, the map changes, or
- Being set on fire causes the player to lose the team-colored overlay when under the effects of the ÜberCharge.
- The Festivized variant's icon is team-colored (red icon on RED, blue icon on BLU) instead of being a single color.
- Specialized Killstreak sheens applied to the Quick-Fix appear on the Medic's backpack.
- A Medic and his patient under the Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge become unable to block enemies from capturing an objective.
- If a Medic using the Quick-Fix is healing a Pyro while they use the Thermal Thruster, the Medic will be able to stomp enemies as if he had Mantreads equipped for as long as he remains alive, whether he is healing the Pyro from that point forward or not.[1]
Trivia
- The model for the Quick-Fix was previously shown in concept art images for Meet the Medic, photographed in Valve Headquarters.
- The Medic could be seen holding the Quick-Fix before the Über Update was revealed in the final page of Meet the Director.
- The Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge was known as the Megaheal in the beta.
- A "Quick Fix" refers to a hurried or temporary fix of a problem or injury. These remedies may not always work or may prove ineffective to stop the problem entirely, referencing that the Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge can still result in the death of both the Medic and his patient if enough damage is taken.
- Dove droppings are seen on the main body of the Quick-Fix.
