The Quick-Fix is a secondary weapon for the Medic. It is a prototype Medi Gun sporting various armaments, including a measuring jug for a body. A white splat on the jug appears to be a Dove dropping. The main gun is coupled with a unique medicinal reactor backpack with glowing portions.

This weapon sports a 40% faster heal and 25% faster ÜberCharge build rate compared to the default Medi Gun, but lacks the ability to overheal patients past their maximum health.  Additionally, should the player train the weapon on a faster ally, they will be able to match their speed for as long as the medicinal beam is connected. When the ÜberCharge is deployed, the patient and the Medic will be healed at triple the healing rate, and both will be immune to movement effects such as knockback, stun and slowdown.
+

Currently healing a class with a speed bonus (from  Gas Jockey's Gear for example) does not apply that speed bonus to the Medic meaning the Scout is the only class that will provide a speed bonus to the Medic while using the Quick-Fix.
+
The Quick-Fix is a secondary weapon for the Medic. It is a prototype Medi Gun with a group of three small gauges on one side, a decorative ÜberCharge gauge on the other, and what appears to be a blender for a body. The main gun is coupled with a medicinal reactor backpack with glowing portions that replaces Medic's default backpack.

The Quick-Fix was previously tested in the Team Fortress 2 Beta.
+
Compared to the stock Medi Gun, the Quick-Fix heals players 40% faster and builds ÜberCharge 10% faster, but can only overheal up to 125% rather than 150%. It can maintain, but not increase, overheal over 125% obtained from another source. Since its maximum overheal is lower than the 142.5% ÜberCharge build rate penalty threshold, it can build ÜberCharge twice as fast as the stock Medi Gun, on top of the aforementioned 10% build rate boost.

Healing and function times
+
Deploying the ÜberCharge triples the healing rate and heals the Medic at the same rate (granting him up to 125% overheal), while also providing immunity to all movement-impairing effects, such as knockback, stun, and slowdown. The charge does nothing to reduce incoming damage, making it ineffective against lethal burst damage. The reduced healing penalty applied under the effects of afterburn still apply under the Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge. While ÜberCharge is deployed, the Medic and his patient cannot capture or block a point, or push/block the cart, but they can carry the intelligence.
 +

 +
Like other Medi Guns, healing with the Quick-Fix allows the Medic to match the speed of a faster target. However, it also mirrors a patient's explosive jump or shield charge, sending the Medic an equal force in the same direction, allowing him to follow teammates that launch themselves across the map (although after the initial force the Medic must control his own flight). This effect only functions when healing a Soldier, Demoman, or Pyro, and only works on Medics directly healing the patient (effect cannot be transferred across a chain of Medics). When healing a patient firing a Grappling Hook, the Medic travels in the same direction at the same speed, remaining suspended until the hook is released or their healing beam is disconnected. Any kills that a patient gets are counted as an assist to the Medic.
 +

 +
The Quick-Fix was previously tested in Team Fortress 2 Beta. The Beta Quick-Fix, a separate variant of the weapon, was also available for use in the beta.

The healing rate is linearly based upon how long ago the target was last damaged.  If the target was damaged less than 10 seconds ago, then they are healed at the normal rate of 33 health per second.  From 10 to 15 seconds, this rate increases linearly from 33 up to a maximum of 100 health per second. This mechanic is in place to encourage falling back to heal, as without the boosted healing rate, players often found that fighting, dying, and respawning was quicker than falling back, being healed to full, then re-engaging.
+
Quick Fix Overheal table

The Quick-Fix finds its niche in keeping several people alive at once with the use of its ÜberCharge, due to the charge not draining faster when bumping between multiple targets. A group of players can be kept healed and alive quickly when the charge is deployed, allowing for more concentrated firepower than a single invulnerability charge can, at the cost of still being vulnerable to kills based on a high enough damage. A final note of interest: the ÜberCharge will heal the Medic as quickly as it will his target, but only when he has the beam locked on a friendly player; he will not be healed when the charge is deployed but not targeted.

<!--ÜberCharge Fill time is doubled if target is at 142.5% health or above.-->If more than one Medic is healing the target, each Medic's build time is divided by a factor of the number of Medics healing that target.

* Dying during an ÜberCharge may cause the ÜberCharge sound effect to play until the player disconnects, much like a previously patched bug with the Kritzkrieg.
+
* Activating the ÜberCharge on a disguised Spy provides them with a healing aura of their team color instead of the disguised team's color.
* Healing Heavies under the effect of Dalokohs Bar will not restore their health after reaching the default 300 HP.
+
* A Spy disguised as a Medic with the Quick-Fix equipped uses the regular Medic backpack.
* Healing certain classes with additional speed benefits will not bestow them to the Medic, such as with a Pyro using the The Gas Jockey's Gear item set, or a Demoman with the Eyelander storing 3 or more heads.
+
* Dying during an ÜberCharge may cause the ÜberCharge sound effect to play.
* When partnered with the Overdose, upon ubering a Scout, the player will lose both speed bonus from the weapon and from the Scout.
+
** This can be fixed if the player disconnects, the map changes, or <code>snd_restart</code> is entered into the console.
* The backpack of the Quick-Fix will display the wrong teams colors after switching teams.
+
* Being set on fire causes the player to lose the team-colored overlay when under the effects of the ÜberCharge.
* The crafting recipe for the item claims it requires refined metal, but it only requires 1 reclaimed. When the player is prompted to add the ingredients, the menu will display the proper recipe.
+
* The Festivized variant's icon is team-colored (red icon on RED, blue icon on BLU) instead of being a single color.
* Occasionally the backpack of the Quick-Fix will freeze in mid-air while the player moves away, causing the player to appear without a pack.
+
* Specialized Killstreak sheens applied to the Quick-Fix appear on the Medic's backpack.
* The Ubercharge's effect will not apply to the Medic unless the Medic is healing a target.
+
* A Medic and his patient under the Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge become unable to block enemies from capturing an objective.
 +
* If a Medic using the Quick-Fix is healing a Pyro while they use the Thermal Thruster, the Medic will be able to stomp enemies as if he had Mantreads equipped for as long as he remains alive, whether he is healing the Pyro from that point forward or not.

War historians will appreciate the original medigun— still handy even though the invuln function shorted out after its first use.
Quick-Fix publicity blurb

The Quick-Fix is a secondary weapon for the Medic. It is a prototype Medi Gun with a group of three small gauges on one side, a decorative ÜberCharge gauge on the other, and what appears to be a blender for a body. The main gun is coupled with a medicinal reactor backpack with glowing portions that replaces Medic's default backpack.

The Quick-Fix was previously tested in Team Fortress 2 Beta. The Beta Quick-Fix, a separate variant of the weapon, was also available for use in the beta.

Bugs

  • Activating the ÜberCharge on a disguised Spy provides them with a healing aura of their team color instead of the disguised team's color.
  • A Spy disguised as a Medic with the Quick-Fix equipped uses the regular Medic backpack.
  • Dying during an ÜberCharge may cause the ÜberCharge sound effect to play.
    • This can be fixed if the player disconnects, the map changes, or snd_restart is entered into the console.
  • Being set on fire causes the player to lose the team-colored overlay when under the effects of the ÜberCharge.
  • The Festivized variant's icon is team-colored (red icon on RED, blue icon on BLU) instead of being a single color.
  • Specialized Killstreak sheens applied to the Quick-Fix appear on the Medic's backpack.
  • A Medic and his patient under the Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge become unable to block enemies from capturing an objective.
  • If a Medic using the Quick-Fix is healing a Pyro while they use the Thermal Thruster, the Medic will be able to stomp enemies as if he had Mantreads equipped for as long as he remains alive, whether he is healing the Pyro from that point forward or not.[1]

Trivia

  • The model for the Quick-Fix was previously shown in concept art images for Meet the Medic, photographed in Valve Headquarters.
    • The Medic could be seen holding the Quick-Fix before the Über Update was revealed in the final page of Meet the Director.
  • The Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge was known as the Megaheal in the beta.
  • A "Quick Fix" refers to a hurried or temporary fix of a problem or injury. These remedies may not always work or may prove ineffective to stop the problem entirely, referencing that the Quick-Fix's ÜberCharge can still result in the death of both the Medic and his patient if enough damage is taken.
  • Dove droppings are seen on the main body of the Quick-Fix.
