Map Overview
Monster Bash overview.png

Monster Bash is a Player Destruction map set in a gothic castle. It was added during Scream Fortress X.

The objective for this map is to gather buckets of gibs to bring to the reanimator in the middle of the castle. A team wins upon successful delivery of a set number of gibs.

Features

The delivery point is surrounded by a shield for a set period of time. After a set amount of time, the shield disappears, and it is safe to step onto the point. Once the delivery period is over, players are forced off the point and the forcefield goes back up.

The pit in the center of the map, rather than instagibbing players, leads to a secret area. In this area, players perpetually take damage and must jump through a hallway of swinging axes to escape. If they can manage to escape, they are placed at the top of the pit and are granted with temporary crits.

Much like other Halloween maps, this map features spells for the players to pick up, in the form of beakers.

Update history

October 19, 2018 Patch (Scream Fortress 2018)

  • Added Monster Bash to the game.

Trivia

  • There is a large plant in the BLU spawn room with the name Elizabeth II, referencing the movie "Little Shop of Horrors."
  • The foyer features a large painting of Dr.Cadaverus Hale, the owner of the castle.
  • The front gate, which is normally inaccessible, has a large mob gathering outside of it. This mob is made up of cutouts of the Spy.
  • There is a small stack of books with the Scout's cap resting on top in the library. This is a reference to when Nathan Vetterlein, The Scouts voice actor, was playing on Monster Bash during Tip of the Hats 2018 and complimented the maps library.
  • Originally called "Monster Mash" on the Steam Workshop, it was renamed to "Monster Bash" to avoid copyright issues upon Scream Fortress X's release.
