Sweet!
The Scout

The Candy Cane is a melee weapon for the Scout. It is an oversized cane made of team-colored candy with a ribbon wrapped around with a double-looped parallel bow.

This weapon has the same basic stats as the default Bat, but small health packs will be dropped by slain enemies if they are killed with any weapon while the Candy Cane is equipped to a loadout slot. Health packs also drop from assists and any kill that counts as being "finished off", but do not drop from a Spy's Dead Ringer. Equipping the Candy Cane will make the Scout more vulnerable to damage from explosives, such as Rockets, Grenades, Stickybombs, and the Ullapool Caber.

Bugs

  • The weapon clips through the Scout's hand.
  • The weapon uses the Bat's metallic sounds.
  • If a player equipped with the Candy Cane commits suicide, they will drop a med-pack upon death.
  • If a Sandvich-wielding Heavy at full health picks up a medkit dropped by the Candy Cane, it will not restore his Sandvich.

Trivia

  • All Candy Canes are level 25, referring to Christmas day on December 25th.
  • A successful kill with the weapon in Medieval Mode will cause two health kits to be dropped instead of one.
  • Hitting a Spy with a Dead Ringer active will not drop a health kit. This is a good way to detect Spies using the Dead Ringer.
