Overcast is a KOTH map set on a small island in the frozen arctic, where RED runs a mining operation, and BLU runs a dockyard on the opposite side of the island. The point of contention is the base of the lighthouse and the area around it.
Overcast publicity blurb

Overcast is a community-created King of the Hill map.

Overcast was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Locations

  • Spawns: Each team has a single spawn, with RED team starting out inside of a large red mansion while BLU team's spawn resembles that of a cargo ship. Each team's spawn has two exits. The BLU spawn also contains a staircase that descends down into the ship's belly, leading to a secret room. Additionally, BLU players exiting their spawn must first walk across a Gangway in order to cross the tiny gap between the docked ship and land.
  • Transitional Building: Standing in between the spawn and the main control point is a large building that acts as a transition between the two areas. For RED, this is the Redstone Cargo, a large mining complex that is adjacent next to a partially excavated cavern. On the other hand, BLU has the General Industries co. that takes the form of a sizeable industrial warehouse. Each buildings has three ways to enter it from spawn and four exits leading to the control point.
    • Open Section: This is a large spacious room with a tall celling located on the right side of the transitional room, it connects to the Shed as well as to the Chicken Wire Section. The Open Section also contains one of the two stairs that lead to the Sniper's Deck.
    • Chicken Wire Section: The middle part of the Transitional Building, it is represented by a floor made out of metal grating or out of chicken wire. Contained within it is a large health pack.
    • Sniper's Deck: Located right above the Chicken Wire Section (or in other words, it is the Chicken Wire Section's celling) is an elevated platform positioned next to an opening in the outer wall, that offers a good vantage point for observing the control point. It can be accessed by a pair of stairs either from the Open Section, or via the Gate 03.
    • Metal Shutter: A two-way shutter gate that serves as an additional exit from the Transitional Building; positioned slightly to the left of the Sniper's Deck and on a lower level.
    • Left Section: The left most section of the Transitional Building, although not as roomy and spacious as the Open Section opposite of it, it still retains a relatively tall ceiling that allows good mobility. Located within it is the second staircase leading to the Sniper's Deck, the Metal Shutter and the fourth and final exit from the Transitional Building, which leads to the other team's Flank.
  • Puddle: In between the Transitional Building and the Arch, a small puddle has formed from the melted snow.
  • Arch: A thin, low wall made out of concrete or bricks with an arched opening in its middle, leading directly to the point. The wall itself has a Chemin de Ronde that allows one to stand atop it and look out onto the point. Standing in between the Arch and the control point is a small rock that offers cover to advancing players.
  • Shed: Accessible from the Open Section and connected to the left end of the arched wall is a metal/wooden shed that leads out towards the Rampart.
  • Rampart: This refers to an elevated outdoor clearing located just to the right of the point, offering excellent high ground advantage to anyone standing atop it.
  • Flank: Extending from each team's Rampart area is an extremely tall rectangular structure that splits the two flanks around the control point in two. For RED, this is represented by a hollowed out cliff while BLU's flank looks like a simple industrial building. Each Flank has two openings that are internally connected by a tight and narrow staircase.
  • Hill: Has a standard three minute timer. It is characterized by a tall lighthouse in its middle with a rotating light. The light is initially an unremarkable white color, but capturing the point changes its color to either red or blue, depending on which team currently holds control of the Hill.
