Penguin Peak is a community-created Capture the Flag map, but instead of the flag being an Intelligence briefcase, it is instead a team-colored penguin.
Penguin Peak was contributed to the Steam Workshop.
Locations
- Spawns:Each team has a single spawn located on the opposite ends of the map from each other. Each spawn has two exits, one that leads to the Courtyard and another that leads towards the Flag.
- Rundown Shed: The structure housing the penguins that act as flags, it is a dilapidated wooden shed standing on a cliff.
- Guard House: Located next to the Rundown Shed is a small single room structure, which depending on the team it belongs to, is either made out of wood or concrete.
- Underground Bunker: Each team has an underground system of hallways that offer them a safe passage from their spawn to the Frozen Pond. In total, this bunker can be accessed in three different ways.
- Entrance: The main entrance is located next to the Rundown shed, inside a hollowed out section in one of the cliffs.
- Ventilation Dropdown: Shortly after entering, the entrance hallway descends to a semi-flooded room that houses two ventilation shafts, both of which end in a vertical dropdown that leads to the surface.
- Exit: After passing the aforementioned flooded room, the bunker once again narrows down into a hallway, this time leading to the team's Side House.
- Courtyard: A small outdoor section which can be found in between the Spawn and the Battlements, adorned with pine trees and other vegetation.
- Battlements: The main and largest building on the map, it takes the form of a large wooden/metal house that is located on a slight elevation, overlooking the central part of the map. It has a small balcony as well as many windows and openings through which it is possible to peak through. The two battlements sit directly opposite each other.
- One-way exit: On the Battlement's left side is a one-way gate, only openable from the inside. It leads to the opposite team's side house.
- Side Houses: Two average-looking houses placed right on the edge of the map, acting as flank routes for their respective teams.
- Frozen Pond: A nearly completely frozen body of water stretching from one Side House to the other in the map's center. Players that try to walk over it will begin uncontrollably sliding; in addition to gaining a speed boost that lasts as long as they keep contact with the ice.
- Railway Bridge: High above the Frozen Pond is an elevated set of railway tracks slicing the map in half. Every once in a while a penguin driven Train will drive across.
