— The Soldier emphasizing the Concheror's healing benefits
|
” |
The Concheror (/kɒŋk'ɛrɔr/ konk-err-or) is a community-created promotional secondary weapon for the Soldier. It is a light brown wooden box with dark brown corners and a quad diamond shaped insignia, accompanied by a conch shell. A white, slightly tattered, vertical banner flag with the same diamond insignia secured onto a pair of bamboo sticks appears, attached to the side of the box, when the banner call is played.
Like the Buff Banner, the Concheror provides a specified effect for surrounding teammates, and charges through dealing damage. Holding down the primary fire button will delay the effect until the button is released. While this banner's buff is active, allies within 450 units are speed boosted, and are healed for 35% of the damage they deal. The speed boost given is identical to the speed bonus given from the Disciplinary Action, although, the speed bonus cannot be stacked if the effects from both the Concheror and Disciplinary Action are activated. Additionally, the Concheror also adds a passive, self-healing effect, regenerating lost health at 4 points per second; however, much like the Medic's self-healing, this varies based on how recently the player was damaged.
The Concheror was awarded in Genuine quality to players who pre-ordered Total War: SHOGUN 2 on Steam before March 15, 2011.

Bugs
- The health regen rate will reset if the player rocket jumps with the Rocket Jumper.

- The strange variant of the item can rank up during battles against bots and when sv_cheats is set to 1.
Trivia
- The "horn" sound effect is unique for this banner; however, unlike those for the Buff Banner and Battalion's Backup, it is the same for both RED and BLU teams.
- The flag and the conch shell are styled after the Nobori and the Horagai respectively. The symbol on the flag serves to distinguish which army the troop belongs to while the conch shell is generally used as a signaling trumpet.
- The flag's symbol is that of the Takeda clan, a famous line of samurai warlords from the Sengoku, or Warring States era.
- Sashimono (指物) were small banners fitted to the backs of Japanese soldiers from mid-15th to early 17th century, for identification in battle.
- The name is a play on the words "conch", the weapon's substitute for a bugle, and "conqueror".
