The Soldier emphasizing the Concheror's healing benefits

The Concheror (/kɒŋk'ɛrɔr/ konk-err-or) is a community-created promotional secondary weapon for the Soldier. It is a hatasashimono mounted on a light brown wooden box with dark brown corners and a quad diamond shaped kamon and accompanied by a jinkai. The sashimono itself – which is a white vertical banner flag with the same diamond shaped kamon secured onto a pair of bamboo sticks – remains hidden in the box until it is activated, at which point it appears at the side of the box. The weapon itself has an team-colored tint: orangeish-brown for RED, and light blue-tinted brown on BLU.

Like the Soldier's other Banner weapons, the Concheror gains "Rage" through dealing damage, and provides a specified effect for surrounding teammates once activated (playing the same horn on both RED and BLU). Compared to the Buff Banner's and Battalion's Backup's 600 damage, it takes 480 damage to fill up the Concheror's Rage meter. It is possible to delay the release of the effect of the Concheror after the bugle call, and thereby delaying the buffing effect, by holding down the primary fire key (default key: MOUSE1). While this banner's buff is active, allies within 450 Hammer units are speed boosted, and are healed for 35% of the damage they deal. The speed boost given is identical to the speed bonus given from the Disciplinary Action, although the speed bonus cannot be stacked if the effects from both the Concheror and Disciplinary Action are activated. Additionally, the Concheror also adds a passive, self-healing effect, regenerating lost health at 4 points per second; however, much like the Medic's self-healing, this varies based on how recently the player was damaged.

In Mann vs. Machine, the Concheror passive self-healing always regenerates 4 health points per second, regardless if the player was recently injured or not.

This item was awarded in Genuine quality to players who pre-ordered Total War: SHOGUN 2 on Steam before March 15, 2011.

Trivia

  • Hatasashimono (旗指物) were small banners fitted to the backs of Japanese soldiers from mid-15th to early 17th century, for identification in battles. This weapon's item type, sashimono (指物), is a term in Japanese that also refers to the utensils made by sticking wooden boards together, referring to the box which the banner attaches to.
  • The Kamon (家紋) on the banner is that of the Takeda clan, a famous line of samurai warlords from the Sengoku period.
