The Baby Face's Blaster is a community-created primary weapon for the Scout. It is a short, slightly modified lever-action shotgun with a wooden handle, small drum magazine and a single barrel.

The Baby Face's Blaster is 40% more accurate when compared to the stock Scattergun, but does 30% reduced damage. This weapon will slow the Scout down from 400 units/second, 133% of the normal movement speed, to 260 units/second, 86% of the normal movement speed. This is 20 units/second faster than a Soldier and 20 units/second slower than a Demoman, making the Scout the third slowest class while the weapon is equipped. However, for every point of damage dealt with any weapon, the Scout builds up a "Boost" meter (though the minimum Boost gained from any damage dealt is 5%). As the Boost meter charges, the Scout's speed will increase linearly from 260 units/second to 517.4 units/second (173% of the normal movement speed). The Boost meter fills completely when the Scout deals 99 points of damage using any weapon. If the Scout jumps while using the Baby Face's Blaster, the Boost meter is reset, causing the Scout to lose momentum and return to moving at 260 units/second. Shooting an invulnerable enemy will still fill the Boost meter: this is intentional, as the Boost-filling property is "On Hit", not "On Damage".
+
The Baby Face's Blaster only has magazine capacity of four, instead of six compared to the Scattergun, and slows the Scout down from units/second (% movement speed) to units/second (% movement speed). However, for every point of damage dealt with any weapon, the Scout builds up a "Boost" meter (though the minimum Boost gained from any damage dealt is 5%). As the Boost meter charges, the Scout's speed increases linearly from units/second to units/second (% movement speed). The Boost meter fills completely when the Scout deals 100 points of damage using any weapon. If the Scout takes damage or jumps mid air while using the Baby Face's Blaster, the Boost meter is reduced, by 4% for each damage point (25 damage to bring a full meter down to 0) and 75% for each air jump, causing the Scout to lose momentum. Ground jumps do not lower the Boost meter. Similar to many On-Hit effect weapons, shooting an invulnerable enemy still fills the Boost meter, and shooting disguised Spies does not grant boost.

Speed values are based on the amount of current boost. For reference, the standard movement speed is 100%, which is 300 Hammer units per second (the speed of the Pyro, Engineer, and Sniper), whilst the Scout moves at 400 units per second, 33% above the standard movement speed. If a Scout runs with the Baby Face's Blaster's boost meter full, the Scout runs at the speed cap of the game, so other sources of speed boost, such as the Disciplinary Action or the Concheror, do not affect said Scout.

Aaah this gun takes me back. Roaming the streets, shooting up anything or anyone I felt like, being on the run from the law, hiding out while the big guns sweep through then BAM! YOU'RE DEAD PAL! Oh wait, that was yesterday. I have the best. Job. EVER!
Baby Face's Blaster publicity blurb

The Baby Face's Blaster is a community-created primary weapon for the Scout. It is a short, slightly modified lever-action shotgun with a wooden handle, small drum magazine and a single barrel.

The Baby Face's Blaster only has magazine capacity of four, instead of six compared to the Scattergun, and slows the Scout down from 400 units/second (133% movement speed) to 360 units/second (120% movement speed). However, for every point of damage dealt with any weapon, the Scout builds up a "Boost" meter (though the minimum Boost gained from any damage dealt is 5%). As the Boost meter charges, the Scout's speed increases linearly from 360 units/second to 520 units/second (173% movement speed).

The Baby Face's Blaster was contributed to the Steam Workshop.
