Erebus is a community-made Attack/Defend Control Point map released during the Scream Fortress 2021 update. It is set in an haunted mine located somewhere in a forest, A nearby volcano and Hydro electric dam overflowing with lava have caused pits of lava to open up on the map.

In Erebus, the goal of the attackers, BLU, is to win through a series of stages in order to win the map. Within each stage, the attackers must capture two control points, A and B, which are held by the defenders, RED. Point A must be captured before the attackers can assault B.

Erebus was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Stage 1

Point A

  • Stump area: Blu's right spawn exit
  • Saw-yard: Location of first point

Point B

  • Mineshafts: Two flanks leading up to point B

Stage 2

Point A

  • Ravine: Depressed ditch in shape of a letter L
  • Cliff: Running parallel to the Ravine
  • Cave: Left shortcut to the Cliff

Point B

  • Sniper's deck: Right in front of the Point A (From Blu's perspective)
  • Shed: Slightly left of the Point A, imbedded into the terrain
  • Left Flank: Slightly left of the aforementioned Shed, leading up to point B
  • Church: The location of point B

Update history

October 5, 2021 Patch (Scream Fortress XIII)

  • Added Erebus to the game.

October 8, 2021 Patch

  • Fixed players being able to get out from playable area in underworld.
  • Fixed players teleporting and getting stuck on each other when going through portal in underworld on stage 3.
  • Fixed some stage 3 BLU spawn respawn visualizers looking odd.
  • Slightly moved some underworld enter portals off from walls.
  • Slightly decreased time added when capping last points of 1st and 2nd stage.
  • Fixed some places where players could get out of the map.
