— The Scout marking an enemy for death
|
” |
The Fan O'War is a community-created promotional melee weapon for the Scout. It is a large metal gunbai war fan.
Hitting an opponent with the Fan O'War "marks them for death" for 15 seconds, denoted by a white skull and crossbones icon appearing over the target's head. Upon being marked, the target hears a distinctive sound, and a skull icon appears on their HUD (note that disguised Spies cannot be marked for death by this weapon). During this 15-seconds period, any subsequent hits taken by the target are Mini-Crits. Unlike Jarate, this mark cannot be removed early by being healed, charging, being submerged in water, or touching a Resupply Locker. Only one player at a time may be marked by this weapon: if a non-marked enemy is hit with this weapon whilst another is marked, the mark transfers to the non-marked enemy. Giant Robots are marked for half the normal duration.
This weapon deals 75% less damage than the stock Bat, and in a situation where it would normally deliver Mini-Crits, it performs a Critical hit. Combined with the aforementioned mark-for-death effect, this means swings from this weapon (except for the first) on an enemy deals 25% less damage than those of the stock Bat, making it a less suitable means of killing enemies.
This item was awarded in Genuine quality to players who pre-ordered Total War: SHOGUN 2 on Steam before March 15, 2011.
