— The Scout on himself
|
” |
A fast running, fast talking, and smack talking kid from Boston with a penchant for baseball and grievous bodily harm, the Scout flies like a butterfly and stings like a Shotgun blast to the face. The fastest of all the classes, his speed and ability to double jump will leave slower opponents spinning in circles. This, coupled with his Scattergun, Shortstop or the Force-A-Nature, makes the Scout ideal at hit and run tactics, allowing him to inflict massive close-range damage before dashing away to safety. Not content with only one way to harass his foes, the Scout can also equip his trusty Sandman to stun opponents with long-range baseballs, or equip his Bonk! Atomic Punch to make a getaway without taking damage.
The Scout is an ideal choice if you need an objective done quickly; capturing points and moving carts twice as fast as his teammates and spiriting the enemy Intelligence away before they even know he's there. His petite stature and swiftness makes him a befitting class to provide distractions.
The Scout is voiced by Nathan Vetterlein [1].

Trivia
- The Scout's right eye is at the position 1.337 on the X-axis. [citation needed]
- After players noted a resemblance between the Scout and TV pitchman Vince Offer, several players requested that Valve add a reference to this in-game. With the release of the Scout update, lines such as "If you order now, I'll throw in a second beatin', absolutely free." and "No otha' class' gonna do dat!" were added to the game files.[citation needed]****
- The Scout's voice actor, Nathan Vetterlein, also provides the voice for the "Church Guy" character in Valve title Left 4 Dead.[1]
- Contrary to popular belief the scout does not travel faster after drinking 'BONK! Atomic punch!'
- The new weapon for the scout, the 'shortstop' is the only primary weapon for the scout that reloads by the magazine.
- Unlike with 'BONK! Atomic punch' when the scout drinks 'Crit-a-cola' the camera does not change into third person. However it shares the same drinking animation.Famasfan 06:38, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
