— The Scout on the facts of life
|
” |
The Scout is a scrapper from Template:W, Template:W with a baseball bat and a mean attitude. He's the fastest mercenary on the battlefield, and his double jump leaves slower opponents struggling to keep up. Carrying a Scattergun, the Scout is ideal for aggressive fighting and flanking, allowing him to inflict massive close-range damage before dashing away to safety.
The Scout is an excellent choice for completing objectives quickly. He captures control points and pushes carts twice as fast as any other class.
The Scout is voiced by Nathan Vetterlein.

With the release of The Scout Update, lines such as "If you order now, I'll throw in a second beatin', absolutely free." and "No otha' class' gonna do dat!" were added to the game files.
- The Submachine Gun for the Sniper was originally intended as the primary weapon for the Scout.
- The Nailgun, a scrapped weapon carried over from Team Fortress Classic, was also intended for the Scout.
- In Poker Night at the Inventory, an image of the Scout makes a cameo as the Jack of Spades & Clubs in the "Team Fortress 2" deck.
- The Scout makes an appearance in Worms: Reloaded as part of one of the forts; the rest of the fort is composed of Granary. The Scout's headset and cap are also available as a selectable hat for the player's worms.
- The original BLU Scout resembles Billy the Kid.
- The Assassin class of Monday Night Combat has a promo item with the Scout's headset and the Spy's disguise mask named "Bonk! Slash!".
- Since June 8th, 2011 when a Scout is gibbed occasionally a dove will fly out of his torso. This is a reference to the final scene in Meet the Medic.
- According to one of the domination lines from the Spy, the Scout is a virgin.
