Pyroland assists I have this, the Unknown Monkeynaught, AND the Boo Balloon, so I can field for all of these but first, can I get a quick refresh on the requirements for a Demostration video, particularly a Pyrovision one? [UGS 2nd]Lancer @nti-tank Rocket 00:07, 28 February 2013 (GMT)

- Aww. It also kind of sucks that Source games can't be played at a higher resolution than the monitor's resolution, even if the graphics card supports it — Wind 19:18, 28 February 2013 (PST)

Tux

- i'll use the same way to finish it , i can use the Robro 3000's .dem and replace the tux model to it. that would be fine? Karmacharger 9:35 , 4/19/2013 (PDT)
- As long as it looks exactly identical to the way it would if you had the real item, yes. Don't upload those .dem's again as "tux" though — Wind 16:00, 25 April 2013 (PDT)

Need to be redone
Buff Banner
Should show you can hold the Banner and delay the minicrit boost if you hold down the mouse button.--Uknownada 00:53, 20 April 2013 (PDT)
- Useful if true (I didn't even know), but pretty hard to demonstrate on video. Should be redone if someone can think of a way to demonstrate this clearly — Wind 16:00, 25 April 2013 (PDT)
- Here's one possible way: Have a mini-video inset that shows someone's hand operating the mouse, and them clicking and releasing the button. It can be live-action or animated. Dogman15 00:17, 26 April 2013 (PDT)
- Let's not do a live-action one, but animated would work, as long as it doesn't include any text — Wind 19:56, 2 May 2013 (PDT)

It won't be that hard. I actually learned it from watching TF2 videos. Just hold down the mouse button, and the horn stays on your screen. An example is minute 5:25 in this video.--Uknownada 21:08, 26 April 2013 (PDT)
- I'm not sure if that's obvious enough, really. If you don't know what is going on, it feels like the buff banner is just being glitchy for a while — Wind 19:56, 2 May 2013 (PDT)
- Maybe there could be a splitscreen with text in the top of each screen (similar to this video at 0:12). One screen would show the normal activation of the Buff Banner with "clicking the mouse button" in the top, and the other would show the Soldier holding the horn and walking around with it with "holding down the mouse button" in the top. That's really the only way I can think of to clearly demonstrate it. - Uufje 07:42, 3 May 2013 (PDT)
- Let's go with that, but perhaps using icons like these except less phallic and more public domain. Could be used on both screens, staying there for both clips but with the button turning red when pressed on either screen. It's better to use icons than text when possible so that articles in other languages can use it as well — Wind 20:18, 6 May 2013 (PDT)

I really don't think it's a glitch. The Banner has always been able to do that. The Battalion's Backup and Concheror do the same thing (I didn't request those because I wanted this to be approved first). I'm sure you can be able to know what's going on.--Uknownada 23:34, 3 May 2013 (PDT)
- I'm not saying it's a glitch, I'm saying it looks like a glitch to a viewer who doesn't know what is happening — Wind 20:18, 6 May 2013 (PDT)
- I see. Okay, then.--Uknownada 15:44, 7 May 2013 (PDT)
Conscientious Objector
No fade between class and didn't show the Bottle voice line after taunt
- I think it's a good reason to redo Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 09:33, 5 May 2013 (PDT)
- Nah, not important — Wind 20:18, 6 May 2013 (PDT)
Pomson 6000
This demonstration has been reserved: — Armisael (T · C) 20:11, 4 May 2013 (PDT)
Should show if the Medic is ubered or the spy is cloaked, that the weapon still drains.
Should show the weapon cannot penetrate, as it being a lazer weapon implies. (All other lazer weapons can do it)--Uknownada 21:10, 26 April 2013 (PDT)
- Alright — Wind 19:56, 2 May 2013 (PDT)
I don't think the penetration bit is necessary - the bison is the only laser weapon that does (cow mangler and manmelter don't). — Armisael (T · C) 20:11, 4 May 2013 (PDT)
- Alrighty. But the uber/cloak thing is still legit.--Uknownada 13:58, 5 May 2013 (PDT)

- Uh...why is the Medic's uber like the Kritzkrieg's when it's a normal Medigun?--Uknownada 19:46, 6 May 2013 (PDT)
Would be more effective to show it from the medic's perspective with the uber bar shown. Same for the Spy; for all the viewer knows, the red spy on the right may just have decided to uncloak sooner — Wind 20:18, 6 May 2013 (PDT)

Shortstop
Need to show the bullet spread different
- Many people don't know that Shortstop has less bullet spread and Baby Face's Blaster compared it, so why this one don't have? Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 10:54, 6 May 2013 (PDT)
Questions and Proposals
Note: This section is for questions and proposals that aren't specific to a single weapon. If you think a demo ought to be remade, then make an entry for it in the Need to be Redone section above and it will be dealt with.
Archive
It's probably too late now, but wouldn't it have been a good idea to have something like "weapon archive" videos, sort of to show how a weapon looked before it got updated? It can be a nice tid-bit of history.--Uknownada 07:32, 6 May 2013 (PDT)
- Some old weapon demonstrations are archived, but most of the old versions are simply deleted. I'm not sure there would be a way to show all those videos on the wiki anyway, nor if it's worth it. I think the update history section covers that well enough — Wind 20:18, 6 May 2013 (PDT)
- Maybe you won't need to show it on the Wiki, but showing it on another channel as sort of an "extra". The update history section covers it well, but some people might have trouble imagining the Shortstop's quicker reload, or the Tomislav's quick fire thingy. You don't need it on the main channel. Or you could have them unlisted and "click here for previous versions" or something. Just a thought.--Uknownada 15:40, 7 May 2013 (PDT)
HUD vpk fixes
Anyone working with the vpk versions of the HUDs that were posted last week might have noticed that fonts were messed up. This has been fixed. Apologies. — Armisael (T · C) 14:30, 6 May 2013 (PDT)
Text
Why is there no text at all in the demonstration videos? Closed captions or something. Sometimes it takes a while for me to realize what you're trying to tell me. For example, in the new Vaccinator demonstration, it took a good 30 seconds for me to realize that you were trying to show at 6:28 that the Übercharge rate stays the same no matter what. A little text that says just that would've been helpful.
Especially when I look at the Buff Banner discussion I'm a little speechless. Why, Wind, just why is it wrong to have text? It doesn't even have to be in the video, it could be a YouTube annotation or something, but not having text at all? - Selbi 03:51, 7 May 2013 (PDT)
- Not everyone who uses the wiki speaks English, and it's a tremendous amount of effort to maintain text in every language supported by the wiki. — Armisael (T · C) 07:50, 7 May 2013 (PDT)
- That is a questionable argument, considering how the videos use both English text and English voice. If you really wanted to have the Wiki as localized as possible, you'd need to shoot every demonstration video multiple times. Thus I don't see the problem of having a few texts. I don't even mean them as demonstration leaders (arrows pointing somewhere and some text saying "look here!"), I mean as simple supporters of the what the respective scene is supposed to show. Completely optional addition. As I've said, this could be something simple as a YouTube annotation. And finally, I'm not saying you need this on every video out there, just those which could be confusing (like I pointed out in my Buff Banner and Vaccinator example). - Selbi 11:33, 7 May 2013 (PDT)
