- I don't know, but, Grappling Hook is having several changes each update, so every time an update releases, it would be need to re-made the entire video. In my opinion, I would wait until Mannpower to release it completely before doing a Weapon Demonstration video.

- There are some kind of long pauses when I imagine you're pressing some binds to set things up in the Sniper+Spy clip. Try to shorten that.
- In that same clip, it's not immediately obvious if you're following the hooked person or if your own movement makes the other person move (until later in the clip when the spy moves behind an object). Try to show movement from the target in clear sight when you aren't yet fully attached to them, or perhaps show it while you're up in the air (by having the target be on the crates or something) to make it clear it's not you walking. It's also not clear if you can use your other weapons.
- Also, since this is an all-class weapon you need to show it for all classes. I suggest repeating showing a short fly-around clip around the same itinerary. — Wind 17:36, 24 January 2016 (PST)

- Hi Luigi609, thanks for taking time submitting multiple videos here, we appreciate your effort. I'm pretty sure you know the quality of all your videos, are not acceptable. You need to at least make sure your video quality has meet the minimum requirements. Even better, i have made a example demonstration video based on the minimum requirements: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONgc_XlZpiY this is the minimum quality we can accept. If anything goes wrong, sorry. Now what i want you to do is, compare your video quality to the one i made, and i also recommend you to learn how to make a proper quality video first, before making multiple videos.
Let's take a look at the basic things you have gotten wrong:
- 1. The video looks very bright
- 2. The video volume is very low
- 3. The loadout scene, You should already have your mouse cursor pointing at the item at the beginning of the clip and never moves it
- 4. Loadout scene are usually 4-6 seconds are enough
- 5. There are black bars at the top and bottom of the video
- 6. The video quality itself needs to improve
I won't go too much details into the demonstration itself, i wanna make sure you can get the basic things done right first, which are video quality itself. I'm not the person who approve videos right here, and that person is Windpower. If your video don't look as good as the example video i made, based on the minimum requirements, then it's usually not acceptable. There are millions of video tutorial showing "how to record good quality gaming videos" in YouTube. I suggest you should check them out first, and take your time to learn. - +1 on what Karma said. I suggest focusing on a single demonstration and getting that submitted rather than submitting lots of weapon demonstration videos at once, in order to avoid redoing many videos on every round.
- To add to what Karma said regarding the video quality (not related to the content of the demonstration yet, as this applies to all your demonstration videos):
- The video must be at least 720p. This doesn't mean that YouTube must have a 720p option, it means that the game footage must be recorded at 720p or higher, and must not be rescaled (or have black bars added) afterwards.
- The video contrast has low contrast. This is usually due to too low encoding settings, or invalid monitor color profile. For example, compare one frame I took from this demonstration to one frame I took from Vp999's Overdose demonstration below. You'll notice that the Overdose demonstration has a richer color, rather than bright brown overtones everywhere.
- The video shows aliasing artifacts. For example, look at the edge of the metal pillar on the left of the medic on the above images.
- The volume changes over the course of the video. For example, in this Shortstop demonstration, listen to the background "fan noise" that goes on during the loadout view. You'll notice that as soon as you fire the first shot at 0:15, the background noise decreases all of a sudden. This is usually due to recording software trying to be smart and to normalize the recorded volume; when it encounters a "loud" noise (like the gunshot here), it will decrease the volume that it records at, hence the disappearance of the background noise after the gunshot. Make sure you're not running any such audio normalization software, either on the listening side, or on the recording side, or on the video rendering side.
Hopefully this list gives you some tips as to what to optimize for in terms of quality. Good luck with future versions of the demonstration videos! As I mentioned, I suggest focusing on getting just one video approved before moving on to the others. — Wind 16:29, 17 July 2016 (PDT)
Thanks for the somewhat positive feedback, I am currently working on the shortstop video, but I am running into problems such as: I can't stop fraps from decreasing the video volume, and the reason for the resolution is because of my awkward monitor size which is because I use a HDMI cord to a tv for a monitor.
- I don't recommend using Fraps unless you have a PC with expensive specs. I suggest: use Bandicam instead, this is the perfect recorder for anyone with not-so-good PC to use. Fraps takes up too much memory or RAM to use, unlike Bandicam. Bandicam can record the same high quality just like Fraps can do. As for the resolution, what's your monitor resolution? minimum requirement is 1280x720.

Also i don't really know how to demonstrate the "-35% cloak meter from ammo boxes", it's tedious to have both Cloak and Dagger and the stock invisible stock to pick up a ammo box at the exact same cloak rate, Simply because the Cloak and Dagger and the Stock Invisible Watch has different cloak recharge speed. The obvious issues with this video is, the "small screen" scenes has a little bit laggy, and some part it doesn't, like i said i used a crappy laptop to help record. Another thing is, during the thirdperson view on the Engineer buildings part, you can see my shadow is holding a Rocket Launcher in thirdperson. It happens to every other classes i disguse, same goes for my Cloak and Dagger, you can see the shadow of me holding a Grenade Launcher... which is pretty cool and funny though. Anyway, tell me what you think about it

- As said before, it's not the reloading process itself that matters, it's the fact that having a rule on reloading makes reloading behavior consistent across demonstrators.
- For example, I wanted to avoid someone demonstrating the Shotgun video and reloading their shotgun every 3 shells while shooting at the far-away medic in the first clip. That would result in a different amount of time to kill the medic, because the total time spent reloading would be higher (since {time to reload 3 shells at once 2 times} is larger than {time it takes to reload 6 shells at once}).
- As another example, I also wanted the end of the clip to include a full reload, because a weapon's usefulness cannot be judged if we don't see the full cooldown that we have to obey in order to use it. Thus, by reloading at the end of the clip, it brings back the weapon to its initial state that it had at the beginning of the clip. That time has to be factored in when picking a weapon. An analogous version of this principle would be to compare the Brass Beast/Tomislav/Minigun: it wouldn't make sense to compare these weapons without taking spin-up/spin-down time in consideration. The logic is the same for reloading. Take the Panic Attack demo which you also did this week; it'd be unfair to compare the Shotgun to it if we didn't include the Shotgun's own reloading time.
- Agreed-upon consistency means less disagreement (both during review and for redo consideration), and less disagreement means less redos. Those were the ideas behind the rule.
- While I appreciate you questioning the rule's usefulness, I'd prefer if you did so without the passive-aggressive tone. I understand that redos take time and that it's frustrating to be told to redo a long clip over something that might seem silly and arbitrary like this, but that isn't a valid reason to project that frustration unto others. Doing so creates a less-productive environment for both of us.
- With all that being said, clearly the rule doesn't seem to be working very well here. As a result, I have edited it as a compromise that still fulfills the above objectives. It now says that weapons must only be reloaded when their clip is fully empty, or if it's the end of the *first* clip (pyro+soldier+medic kill). For clips other than the first clip, reloading at the end is now optional. It now only applies to the weapon being demonstrated rather than to all weapons, and is explicitly only about the person holding the demonstrated weapon (i.e. excludes bots and other players). Hopefully that will make the rule easier to follow, yet still provide some a good degree of useful consistency across demonstrators. Hopefully this is satifactory; let me know if it's not and we can try to work out something else.
