Demonstration is fine but it only demonstrates wins against the other team. Try to select clips where you win one (against blu or red) and lose one (against blu or red). That way it shows both winning and losing animation for all classes, and it shows the case where you explode which is currently not demonstrated. — Wind 16:54, 2 August 2014 (PDT)

Not sure how to do this one but let me try something, any suggestion? User Karmacharger Charger 2.png Karmacharger 1:12 PM 7/17/2014 (PDT)
Show each of the nine classes conga-ing in tr_target separately, for the full length that the conga music file lasts? Or here's another idea: Show one class conga-ing by himself, then show all nine classes in a row conga-ing? You'd need eight other human players connected to a server running the special tr_target map, though. Anyone got some other ideas? Oh! You could use the High Five! taunt demonstration as a guide... I reserved before, but my edit didn't get saved, so I just recorded it straight away. Video! Download! Demos again failed on me (I should really try get it fixed).

  • You shouldn't have the 3d HUD enabled, you can change this in the options to the complete stock hud. (You have a 3d pyro in the bottom left)
  • After pressing your Taunt key you should show the menu for a bit longer that appears instead of instantly pressing "1" to do the taunt. Doing so let's viewers see whats going on.

Also don't worry about the demos with taunts, aparently the menu doesn't show up for all of us, using your recording software should be alright for now. User Obilisk Demo1.png Obilisk 05:31, 28 June 2014 (PDT)

Nothing wrong with having the 3D hud if it works and is present on all clips in the demo. But yes, I agree with the rest — Wind 15:59, 28 June 2014 (PDT)

I'd like to make a video, but my snack attack is Strange quality. Can I still make a video? [1] --Gaby5011 (talk) 13:25, 6 July 2014 (PDT)

According to the Project Page: "Having the item you want to demonstrate in either Normal or Vintage quality" So I'm pretty sure Strange quality is excluded. User Obilisk Demo1.png Obilisk 06:07, 9 July 2014 (PDT)
The project page is quite unclear at that line. First, it says "Having the item you want to demonstrate in either Normal or Vintage quality.", and later, it's just "Otherwise, use whichever one you have.". Klopapierrolle (talk) 11:47, 18 July 2014 (PDT)
The whole sentence is "Having the item you want to demonstrate in either Normal or Vintage quality (no name tag, no description tag, no craft number, no gifted weapons, and no Community weapons); If you have both a Vintage and a Unique variant of the weapon, use the Unique variant. Otherwise, use whichever one you have". The "Otherwise" part is referring to the sentence just before it, "If you have both a Vintage and a Unique variant of the weapon, use the Unique variant". Thus, it means "If you don't have both a Vintage and a Unique variant of the weapon, use whichever one you have". I removed the third sentence entirely since it's already made clear by the first two sentences. — Wind 20:21, 19 July 2014 (PDT)

WatchThat Martin Guy (talk) 03:30, 27 June 2014 (PDT)

A few things that I spotted:

  • The loadout clip needs to be much longer, give the viewers time to read the description for the weapon.
  • In the loadout clip there is also a white border around the popup, to fix this I think you can just re record the loadout screen.
  • Personally I think that after each of your clips you should give a bit of time before the transition, although this could just be me.
  • At 1:00 the footage is paused before it plays for a splitscreen. Also do you have the splitscreens the wrong way around? I'm pretty sure the left footage shows the "Full turning control" Which is for the Tide turner, not the Chargin' Targe.
  • Not sure if it's just Youtube, but there appears to be black bars to the left and right of the video until 1:00.
  • In all of your splitscreen clips the hud appears to be skewed to the right. Are you sure you're using the 2 way splitscreen HUD? I think you may be using the 3 way splitscreen HUD.
  • Personally I think you should sync up the flamethrower shooting in the splitscreen clip (have both the flamethrowers shoot at the exact same time) , and have it maybe only shoot once. What I suggest to is have a Pyro shoot a flaregun instead of the flamethrower, doing so will be much easier to sync up and give you a much more accurate result of showing the fire resistance.
  • Maybe give a bit more time at the end before it ends. It seems to basically instantly end as soon as the Soldier kills you.
  • You should maybe show that you can shoot the Grenade launcher while charging, and show if it lets you charge again after a kill with it?
  • The font you use during the splitscreen clips should the the TF2 Font. This can be found in the tf/resource. It's called "tf2secondary"
  • Not sure if it's only a Chargin' Targe ability, but perhaps show if you can kill with a shield bash? Also you could maybe show that the more heads you have with the Eyelander the more damage your shield bash does?

These are just what I spotted. You may want to wait for Wind's response, he may disagree with some of the points I've made :) . User Obilisk Demo1.png Obilisk 05:46, 27 June 2014 (PDT)

Agree with all Obilisk said. Also, your volume is weird; I think it's clipped quite a bit, and the ambient sound is also much louder in every clip after every transition until the moment something else happens like a charge or a shot. The splitscreen is also shrinked to fit rather than cropped — Wind 15:59, 28 June 2014 (PDT)

How's this the footage I recorded came out quite blurry on the impact charges, however the same blurry effect is evident on the splendid screen demonstration so I decided to leave it as it is. Also, should I change the Charge turn comparison? I was considering doing it like the current Bootlegger and Ali Wee Booties demonstration but did it differently, is it alright now or should I change it? Lastly, do you think it would be also necessary showing killing a enemy while charging with the Grenade Launcher lets you charge again? Or should I leave this out as it is assumed? User Obilisk Demo1.png Obilisk 06:14, 6 August 2014 (PDT)

I think it's worth showing a kill with the grenade launcher at the end of the charge. The clip that shows the grenade launcher not critting at the end of the charge suggests that the grenade launcher isn't affected by the shield, so it's worth showing that this effect applies for the kill-at-the-end-of-charge attribute. Also, the ending sound is cut off. — Wind 17:02, 10 August 2014 (PDT)
Hmph, upon another test it appears that killing with the primary does not refill the charge meter. Either way I altered the clip to show it. Which do you prefer? The old demonstration or this one? User Obilisk Demo1.png Obilisk 07:11, 11 August 2014 (PDT)

Uh hello,i'm new to the wiki... I've noticed this redo has veen reservated for a month already, so i decided to give it a try. As it is my first, please critic on what i should modify/arrange! So far,the only things i missed is the cursor showing in the loadout screen and the last pyro's screen share, to show that reflected rockets give health to the pyro too.If it's good ,please notify me of putting a download link of the .mp4 please. Cheers.Yahiamice (talk) 06:11, 4 August 2014 (PDT)

You can reserve it now. User Hinaomi Hinaomi-sig.png Rikka Takanashi (talk) • (contributions) 13:13, 4 August 2014 (PDT)

Looks like a pretty solid attempt at your first demonstration Yahiamice. I've spotted a few things you may want to improve.

  • As you said, yes the Loadout screen should have your cursor visible.
  • I believe you are standing a bit close to the Pyro in the first clip. You should start recording from the position you spawn in. (In the center of the box)
  • You should try have smoother and slower mouse movements. You movement is quite jittery and fast, resulting in viewers perhaps getting a bit distracted.
  • After you kill the soldier in the first clip you should stare at his body for a bit longer and let the BLU soldier (You) Finish at least most of what he's saying before turning to the Medic.
  • Try keep your cursor still in the video, especially with the medic. While you are reloading and staring at him your cursor moves around a bit.
  • When taunting try rotate the camera far enough to show the front of the Soldier, not the side.
  • Give a bit more time before you shoot the Pyro in the compression blast clip, as you shoot almost instantly after the transition. I'd also suggest standing in the middle of the box. (As I said earlier.)
  • Not sure if it's just me but your video seems a bit dark. Do you perhaps have the brightness lowered?
  • "[F5] Save this moment!" Appears after the Pyro kills you. It moves a bit glitchy, although you may be able to get away with that.
  • And yes as you said, you should include the footage showing the Pyro receiving health from a reflected rocket at the end.

Overall, as I said it's still a good first try. I'd also suggest waiting for Wind's response, as these are just what I spotted. User Obilisk Demo1.png Obilisk 04:20, 6 August 2014 (PDT)

Okay then,i'll try making a better one. But i'd need help from an assistant AND a server hosting the training map... Plus i have no idea why my brightness is like that...Yahiamice (talk) 16:25, 7 August 2014 (PDT)

What Obilisk said. Are you using a ball mouse or something? It feels like your mouse movements are in small intervals rather than a smooth movement. It might just be a consequence of the jittery framerate though (which you should fix as well). There appears to be some sort of color-"correction" or "enhancement" filter going on regarding brightness; this shows up not only the demonstration, but also on the loadout clip (the red attribute text is a lot redder than it actually is in-game, the brown-ish background is a lot darker, etc). Also, this demonstration is being redone so that the soldier doesn't reload air in the rocket launcher, but here it looks like it's still air. Did Valve not fix it? If so, this demonstration shouldn't be redone at all — Wind 17:02, 10 August 2014 (PDT)
I tested reloading the Black Box and it appears that the update did change it so it shows the rocket, however it is very hard to see with the default (65) fov. User Obilisk Demo1.png Obilisk 22:15, 10 August 2014 (PDT)

A few things:
  • Backpack view shows "You have pending alerts! Go to the Main Menu to view them"
  • Demo ends abruptly (heavy on the right doesn't have time to full spin down)
  • Video looks very aliased
  • Music is a bit too loud compared to the game audio

Video quality actually looks pretty good in this one. Don't know if you used different settings than the other videos. There's still some aliasing visible on the pillars a little bit, low anisotropic filtering, and the Pyro's flamethrower looks low-polygon-y (try increasing model quality in the settings), but overall this is good. There's still some things to fix in the music (there are some split-second audio cuts at 0:38, 0:46, 0:59), and there's a weird black cursor thing next to the soldier in the left clip at 0:56. — Wind 15:59, 28 June 2014 (PDT)

Bunch o' things:

  • Video looks badly aliased :(
  • No need for the "enemy's POV" text. (Also, when text does need to be used, it should have a TF2 font)
  • Enemy POV doesn't match the video. It looks like a different demo...? You need to run two copies of TF2, have a friend help, or set up SourceTV and get a SourceTV demo for this kind of thing.
  • Music volume is too loud relative to in-game volume
  • Transitions are too abrupt (see existing demos; always leave a few seconds before and after each clip) and a bit too slow (shouldn't be more than half a second of fade)
  • No need for "cloak and digger" and "invisibility watch" labels
  • Why the clip at 2:46?

Either way I have redone it. Watch Is this version better than my previous? Also have they changed the spin up animation? It seems to be much slower to spin up. I'm not sure if this is just my computer being weird though. User Obilisk Demo1.png Obilisk 05:23, 26 July 2014 (PDT)
It looks fine to me. However, and this is silly because the original demo doesn't show it either, but this doesn't demonstrate the fact that you walk slower when this is spinning. Welp. That's sort of a basic fact about the weapon that needs to be demonstrated. Please add a 3-way split-screen walking speed comparison (minigun normal, minigun with right-click held down, minigun firing). There are a few things you may want to fix.

  • at 0:26 the steam overlay is very visible.
  • Maybe move back when you taunt, so the Tomislav doesn't clip with the small wall on front of the Heavy.
  • Not sure if it's just me, but your crosshair seems to be very hard to see.
  • If you look closely at 0:40, you can see that you have the Power up Canteen equipped.
  • Maybe give a tiny bit more time on the loadout clip, personally I think it's just a tad too short.
  • Not sure if it needs to be shown but the reason the demonstration needed a redo is because now there's a damage and accuracy ramp-up. I think you may need to show this?

I'm not sure how you would show the damage and accuracy ramp up, maybe have a splitscreen of the Tomislav 'deployed' and shooting an enemy, as well as the other screen showing you spinning up and shooting. (If that makes sense, although I'm still not sure if this needs to be shown properly.)

You may want to wait for Wind's response. Good luck User Obilisk Demo1.png Obilisk 06:09, 26 June 2014 (PDT)

What Obilisk said except the ramp up thing. Since this applies to all miniguns, there's no need to demonstrate it here, and I'm also not sure how to demonstrate it anyway.
