“Bloody hell, you're awful!” This image file requires improvement: (Gallery should be consistant. That can either be a complete re-do, or mimic the pyro.) You can help Team Fortress Wiki by uploading a new version (see image guidelines). |

Unusual quality is an item quality used on hats and some miscellaneous items with a special attached particle effect. Currently, there are 31 total effects. Nine of these effects (Cloudy Moon, Eerie Orbiting Fire, Flaming Lantern, Cauldron Bubbles, Knifestorm, Misty Skull, Harvest Moon, It's A Secret To Everybody and Stormy 13th Hour) are limited Halloween effects that will not be obtainable again until further notice. The only methods of obtaining an Unusual hat are by potentially unlocking a Mann Co. Supply Crate with a Mann Co. Supply Crate Key or via trading. The chances of uncrating an Unusual hat are about one in one hundred or 1%.

Other Unusual items
Two other items with the Unusual quality were introduced with the Scream Fortress update: the Haunted Metal Scrap and the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker. Unlike regular Unusual items, these do not have an attached particle effect. Besides bearing the Unusual quality, the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker is statistically identical to the Eyelander.
The hexadecimal color code for Unusual items is #8650AC.
