- The Horrific Head of Hare is intended as a reference to the video game Hotline Miami, in which the protagonist wears many different animal masks to conceal their identity, with each mask having a varying effect on the gameplay.
- Additionally, in Hotline Miami the Rabbit mask Graham gives the player faster movement speed, a parallel to the Scout's faster movement speed.
