Trivia
- Bill's Hat appears in the backpack as a 'Level 10 Veteran's Beret'.
- This is the same hat that zombie apocalypse survivor Bill Overbeck wears in the original Left 4 Dead, rendered to the Team Fortress 2 art style.
- Bill's Hat has its own intricate back-story, which reads as follows: "While conducting a science experiment on parallel dimensions, Bill's Hat fell off a table into the Team Fortress universe."
- The logo on the hat is not exactly correct to the original in "Left 4 Dead".
- Although Bill wears a green beret, the hat is either brown or gray depending on the wearer's team.
- The magazine cover Hat-Wearing Man seen on the Sniper vs Spy Update published an article titled "Wearing Berets: Not on our Watch! How You Can Help...". It seems the teams didn't take their suggestions to heart.
- Similarly to other promotional and holiday-related hats, Bill's Hat cannot be crafted with another to form a new item.
- This hat was the second item to be released which could only be acquired within a specific time, including the Cheater's Lament, the Sam and Max items, the Gentle Manne's Service Medal, the 119th Update medals, the Earbuds, and the Lumbricus Lid.
- Bill's Hat is one of the few "limited edition" hats eligible for Trading. It shares this characteristic with the Lumbricus Lid and Max's Severed Head.
- Similar to Bill's Hat, Valve has included Ellis' Cap in the Mann-Conomy update. However, its unlock requirements are unknown.
- The Hat's description ("Left 4 You.") may be a reference to the fact that Bill sacrifices his life to save the other survivors in the up-coming DLC for Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, "The Sacrifice".
- Using the Zepheniah's Greed Paint Can changes the color to a more faithful representation of Bill's Hat, as it is dark green in the "Left 4 Dead" series.
