The Demoman, defending

The Dark Age Defender is a community-created cosmetic item for the Demoman. It adds a wrought-iron breastplate, codpiece, and spiked pauldrons to the Demoman's default armour, in whole composing it into a set of medieval plate armour.

The Dark Age Defender was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Trivia

  • The item's name refers to the Dark Ages, an outdated historiographical term for the Early Middle Ages (ca. 500–1000 AD). The term is now largely discouraged, as after Roman times, knowledge did not drop to the extent previously believed.
    • Although this item refers to the Dark Ages and the description mentions the 12th century, this type of plate armor is more akin to developments of the Late Middle Ages (ca. 1300–1500).
  • The item description references Merlin, the famous wizard from Arthurian legend.
