The Grizzled Veteran is a Miscellaneous medal wearable by all classes awarded by Valve to the Team Fortress 2 community as part of their 119th Update Celebration, as well as the Soldier of Fortune and Mercenary. It appears as a gold, rectangular medal worn on the class's chest. The Grizzled Veteran is awarded to players who played Team Fortress 2 for the first time within 3 months of its initial release.

  • This item was given out to users who first played Team Fortress 2 between October 10, 2007 – 00:00 UTC and January 9, 2008 – 23:59 UTC.
  • The Grizzled Veteran was originally given out to players who participated in the pre-game release beta-testing phase, however, these players were later awarded the Primeval Warrior medal instead.
