The Frenchman's Beret is an unlockable headwear item for the Spy. It was modelled after the style of the stereotypical artist's beret, hence the two paint brushes on the left side.
Trivia
- Berets are worn by both men and women and are usually associated with France, although it is in fact rather specific only to the Pyrenees. It has also been occasionally a traditional or fashionable headgear in the Netherlands and Italy.
- This hat was submitted under the name of the "Bourgeois Beret" before Valve changed it to the "Frenchman's Beret."
- It isn't proven who wrote the description, but a User called SoulDestroy said this: "Because deception is an art." some time before the release of the Beret. Valve could have changed it and implemented it in the game.
