The Grizzled Veteran is a cosmetic item for all classes. It is a gold, rectangular medal with the current class's emblem worn on their chest.
The item's description was written by SappinMySentry for the Hat Describing Contest.
The Grizzled Veteran was awarded by Valve to the Team Fortress 2 community as part of their 119th Update Celebration, as well as the Primeval Warrior, Soldier of Fortune and Mercenary. It was given out to those who first played Team Fortress 2 from 00:00 October 10, 2007 (UTC) to 23:59 January 9, 2008 (UTC).

- The Grizzled Veteran was added to the game.
- Grizzled Veteran badges from before October 10th, 2007 were changed to Primeval Warrior badges.
- Badge hire dates now display the time in GMT.

- [Undocumented] Added a community-contributed description for the Grizzled Veteran.
- Name Tags can now be used on this medal.
Notes
- The Grizzled Veteran was originally given out to players who participated in the pre-game release beta-testing phase; however, these players were later awarded the Primeval Warrior medal instead.
