The Ninja Cowl is a community-created promotional cosmetic item for the Spy. It is based on the Ninja from the video game Hero Academy; a dark team-colored leather mask with several stitches along the forehead region that covers the whole face of the Spy, except the eyes and the mouth region.
This item was awarded in Unique quality to players who purchased Hero Academy on Steam. Purchasing this item in the Mann Co. Store grants the buyer a Steam Gift copy of Hero Academy.
The Ninja Cowl was later contributed to the Steam Workshop, at Valve's request.
