The Rimmed Raincatcher is an unlockable headwear item for the Demoman. It has a similar shape to the Tippler's Tricorne, except the brims are larger, have a golden strip at their rim, and are team-colored on the outside. It can be obtained via Crafting, but cannot be placed into the backpack because it is not correctly implemented in the game files (It's not listed in the Mann Co. Catalogue).
It is not yet known if this hat can be painted and renamed.
Trivia
- The hat was initially a replacement model for the Ghastly Gibus and the Tippler's Tricorne, which can still be found here and here.
- The hat was accidentally included in the Mann-Conomy Update in two ways: Firstly, its model files accidentally overwrote those of the Tippler's Tricorne, leading players to believe that they were simply 'updating the design', due to the clear similarity between the two hats. Secondly, it became possible to earn the hat by attempting a normal hat-crafting recipe, but in its incomplete state it cannot be placed in the backpack, and therefore can't be used until it's properly implemented. Both bugs have been acknowledged by Valve and the hat's creator, with the promise that with the following update, the Tippler's Tricorne would return to normal and the Rimmed Raincatcher would be implemented correctly.
