Ze Goggles are an unlockable headwear for the Medic, appearing as a pair of chunky, military-spec night vision goggles.
Trivia
- Ze Goggles' description is a reference to one of Ranier Wolfcastle's lines from The Simpsons' Season 7 episode "Radioactive Man", which has since developed into a meme. Ze Goggles' special description was in place before the Mann-Conomy Update, making it the only droppable hat at the time to have one.
- Ze Goggles hold even more of a reference to the Ecto-Goggles (officially dubbed the "Paragoggles" in Ghostbusters: The Video Game) which appear in the Ghostbusters series, their name originally being 'The Ect-oh Goggles'. This may be a reference to the fact that the Medic looks quite similar to Egon Spengler, and that the Medigun and backpack he wears bear a resemblance to the Neutrona Wand and Proton Pack.
- The prefix is a reference to the Medic's German accent making his words sound different, such as "Ze" instead of "the".
- As of the Mann-Conomy Update, Ze Goggles have a unique Nightvision Device charge-up sound when moving them around in the backpack. The sound was recycled from Counter-Strike: Source, another Valve game.
- If Ze Goggles were in the backpack before the Mann-Conomy update, it will now register them as Vintage Ze Goggles, which translates to Vintage The Goggles. A correct version would be Ze Vintage Goggles.
