- The deerstalker is a hat generally worn for stalking deer, as its name implies. However, it's most commonly associated with fictional English private detective Template:W (though he was never officially described as wearing one; yet the book covers usually picture Sherlock Holmes with a hat similar to this one).
- A Private Eye is slang for a Private Investigator, much like Holmes.
