The Scout

The Mercenary (previously known as Weekend Warrior) is a miscellaneous medal awarded by Valve to the Team Fortress 2 Community as part of their 119th Update Celebration. It appears as a rectangular bronze medal worn on the class's chest, not unlike the Gentle Manne's Service Medal. The Mercenary medal is awarded to players who purchased and played Team Fortress 2 more than a year after its initial release.

Notes

  • The Mercenary, along with the Grizzled Veteran and Soldier of Fortune medals, were the first Miscellaneous items to be available to all 9 classes.
  • The class symbol on the medals reflects the class wearing it.
  • This item is given out to users who first played Team Fortress 2 from 00:00 October 10, 2008 (UTC) to the present.
  • This item was originally called the "Weekend Warrior" before being renamed as "Mercenary."
  • The medal description was written by crushilista.
