The Tux Penguin is a Miscellaneous item wearable by all classes. It appears as a stylized version of the Linux logo penguin. This item floats behind the player in a similar fashion to the Balloonicorn and the Robro 3000.
This item was awarded to players who launched Team Fortress 2 using any form of the Linux operating system between February 14th, 2013 and March 1st, 2013. This was a part of the Linux Update[1] The release of this item was a way to promote the launch of Steam supporting games running on Linux operating systems, very similar to the way that Earbuds were released to promote the launch of Mac OS X support.
