The Heat of Winter is a community-contributed cosmetic item for the Medic. It replaces the Medic's default labcoat, shirt and tie with a team-colored (brown for RED and dark blue for BLU, matching his pants' color) greatcoat which is covered by a team-colored (white for RED, light blue for BLU, matching his default labcoat) smock, and a dark green undergarment. The greatcoat features a large collar and sleeves that partially cover the Medic's gloves, while the smock has a team-colored cross in a circle on each of its shoulders.
The Heat of Winter was contributed to the Steam Workshop, under the name "Wehrmachtszeug".
Update history
- The Heat of Winter was added to the game.
Trivia
- Originally, this item, the Heer's Helmet and the Gaiter Guards formed the "Winterized Combat Garb" item set for the Medic. Although the entire set was confirmed, it is not marked as set in-game.
- The original name of this item is German for "Wehrmacht stuff". The Wehrmacht was the unified armed forces of Germany from 1935 to 1945, which consisted of the Heer (army), the Kriegsmarine (navy) and the Luftwaffe (air force).
- The original description of this item is incorrect German for "Waterproof parkas with hoods were produced later during the war. The troops on the Eastern Front got this in white, the mountain troops in field-gray." This is a reference to the Eastern Front of the World War II, a theatre of World War II between the European Axis powers and co-belligerent Finland against the Soviet Union, Poland, Norway and some other Allies which encompassed Northern, Southern and Central and Eastern Europe from 22 June 1941 to 9 May 1945, as well as a reference to the writing about the World War II German winter uniform.
