- The original texture for the Dr's Dapper Topper was designed to be an Uncle Sam-styled patriotic stovepipe. Valve tweaked the texture to avoid team color confusion.
- This hat is a reference to the one worn by the eponymous Cat in the Hat in the famous children's books by Dr. Seuss.
