The Blighted Beak is a community-created headwear item for the Medic and was released as a part of the Australian Christmas update. It appears as a bird-like mask that is styled directly after the primitive respirators historically worn by Template:W.
Trivia
- Before it was officially added in the game, the item was released as a skin replacing the Physician's Procedure Mask by Pie_Tony and Communist Cake in the TF2 Mod Emporium at the Facepunch forums.
- "Blighted Beak" rushed professional doctors who treated the patients infected by a plague. In Middle Ages doctors trusted, that it is possible to become infected with a plague, having picked up its bacteria from air and to secure itself against contact to breath of patients, doctors carried the similar masks which have served by the prototype of a gas mask.
