Trivia
- The left ear is covered for right-handed batters and the right ear for left-handed batters, whichever ear faces the pitcher. Since the Scout is a right-handed batter, he would seem to be wearing the wrong sided helmet. However, this could be because the Scout already wears the headset on his left ear.
- Baseball players were not necessarily compelled to wear helmets until 1971 when they were made mandatory in the major leagues, so the Scout can be regarded as a sort of pioneer for wearing one.
- although the helmet in real-life is to stop baseball's hurting the wearers head. In TF2 however this does not stop the stun effect from the Sandman's baseball attack, rendering it just for decoration (like all hats).
